What to do with dining table

I am in the process of putting in new flooring and replacing the booth dinette with a table and chairs in our motorhome. What I don't know is whether or not it's necessary to fasten down table(and/or chairs) while traveling. If the answer is yes, to what do you fasten? I really do not want to permanently fasten the table to the floor. I need some feedback from those that have been there and done that, or those that currently have the same configuration. I'm also thinking that four legs on the table are better than one pedestal in the middle.

Our table is fastened to the wall with a bracket. The table can be removed from the bracket and moved around if desired, but can also be used in place.

A lot of people who remodel and put in free standing table and chairs do not secure them. They say they don't move, never have and don't think they ever will. But in a motorhome with passengers and driver onboard... who is to say what could happen in case of an accident, hard stop or swerve, everything that is not screwed down can become a deadly missile. Even cabinet drawers and doors can come open, the contents heading for the windshield, a very terrifying thought indeed! We might go decades without an issue then that one thing happens. We figure...why take such a gamble?! When rolling--we keep our countertops clear, all loose items put away, and all guests and pets secured to a seat belt.

Our previous 5er had table/chairs. The table was secured to floor. The table legs had wooden hooks that would rotate over rungs on front of chair to hold them while traveling. Once setup, the hooks rotated so you wouldn't catch your legs on them.

I pulled out my table and put a dining bar in. I have six legged swivel chairs that are very heavy metal on the bottom and a light leather chair on top. No issues with them moving as long as they are on carpet in 300k miles. Lots of hard stops over 12 years.

Our FW dinette & chairs just sit there.no tie downs/straps.
One chair does occasionally tip over but they are in a slide out so it doesn't go anywhere.
Is it time for your medication or mine?

My train of thought for a motor home would be....
If you have to hit the brakes hard or heaven forbid be in an accident, and the table and chairs are not anchored in some way, where will they stop moving forward when the motor home has stopped?
Are you sitting in the road of where they go?

Not a motor home (we have a TT) but our table and chairs ride just fine without any sort of fastening down. We just make sure we have pushed the chairs in and up against the table. Neither the chairs or the table have ever fallen over or moved....they are sitting on carpet.

Our TT has a pedestal table. The base has four legs, no maybe feet, and two of them have screws in them to the floor. It came with a strap that goes around the front inside leg of eash of the chairs. We never hook the chairs and they go nowhere. I am thinking of removing the screws in the table but I haven't done it yet
