When I go on shore power, I'm dead

When I hook up to shore power, all my 120volt stuff is dead. If I start the genset and disconnect from SP, I'm fine. Any suggestions? I just had both house and chassis batteries replaced. Shore power worked fine until then.

  • THANK YOU! It was the really big bad-ass looking fuse on my power box on the garage. All is well! We just sold our home after 38 years in the most liberal, gun restrictive state in the Union (MD)...and we're going full timing for a couple of years. Youse guys just took a load off my mind...pardon the pun!
  • Your AC cord or male plugin may be bad, the 120v CG pedestal may have popped the circuit breaker or the transfer switch may be stuck on generator.

    1. Check your shore power cord. If it is on a reel they are known to have problems with the contacts.
    2. Check the shore power circuit breaker (flip it all the way off then back on).
    3. If you know where the transfer switch is located rap on it with the handle of a screwdriver.

The power from the generator goes through your RV circuit breaker panel so the problem sounds as if it is the transfer switch or my best guess the power cord.
