I have been at Winnebago in Forest City, IA for several days waiting for service. While here, It is alarming to see all the motorhomes here that are having problems with their slide outs that have the Schwintek In-Wall Slide-Out system by- Lippert Components, Inc. One has stated that their slides have failed 10 times in the last year and are threatening a lemon law suit, that is available in their state.

How about you...Any problems with your Schwintek In-Wall Slide-Out system by Lippert Components, Inc.

New Newmar slide system

Nice slide system but have they worked out the bugs and how long till new owners start complaining its broke for the 3rd time..

It's an HWH system, so the heart of it isn't new, just the application.
There are 24 hours in every day - it all depends on how you choose to use them.

The new Winnebago's have a new system. The rail is not fastened to the slide wall. It is attached at one end and is flexible. Apparently a real improvement. I have a new one on order so I will know soon enough.

The mechanics told me about the new system. Told me it freaks the owner out because the rail will flex and bow out on the side of the slide, which is norma.

We picked up our new 2016 coach about a month ago. It is freaky to see the rails bending.

We have used the coach once with a planned drop off at the dealership so that they can start fixing factory defects.

Our coach is currently in the body shop to fix damage caused by the delivery driver. He hit something cracking the bottom lip of the fiberglass front end in two places, scratches in one area, and spider web cracking in the paint in three places.

We are scheduled to pick up our coach this week for our next trip. Hopefully our slides will not give us any troubles. JD

When I saw them at the show they looked so flimsy but they make sense and seemed to work very well. Good luck with the repairs. Keep me posted on any problems.

Schwintek seems to be taking over the market. The wife and I are looking for our next coach and I am happy to say at least 2 of our choices aren't using them yet. The Newmar 3709 and the Excursion 38K. I wanted to stay under the 200K price range but it seems that if I do, I'll have to accept Schwintck or something equivalent. Being a few thousand miles for home with a broken slide is not the stress I need in my life now.

Our friend has a 2014 Phaeton and one of his bedroom slides failed last month with the Schwintec system. He had to force it in to get it inWe carefully looked at the other Schwintec and saw a mark on every fifth slot as if the gear had a fault on one of its teeth.

My Travel trailer has had 3 Schwintek failures in the last year. The two main slide room failures required sending the trailer back to the factory, as the slide room was too large for the dealer to R&R. The dealer was able to repair the bedroom slide out. I'll probably pick up a Good Sam warranty, but this will definitely be my last RV with that system!

My new coach is in the shop right now getting the schwintech replaced. Problem was it kept bringing the slide in tighter and tighter. At first it closed the gap between the counter top and island faucet. Then it started hitting the faucet, then it hit the faucet and began to move the island. The hydraulic slide on the other side has no issues.

The mechanic says Lippert wants the whole system taken out and returned to them for R&D. Nothing but problems with junk form Lippert.
