The year before we got here the snow came. Water pipes broke, bridges closed a mess they tell me.
When I attended West Riverside Elementary School in Jax back in the 1950s, it started snowing once. The teachers took all the kids out to stand on the sidewalk and look up at the sky, mouths hanging open to taste the snow, because most had never seen such a phenomenon.
Best of luck on the decision. It's 24 on the balmy NC coast this a.m., so I'm glad we winterized on a whim a couple of weeks ago. - JAXFLExplorerGreater Toronto Area.........Winterize? Heck we still camp in that sort of weather!....... low 20's here overnight and mid 20's daytime

Looking at the forecast for Jacksonville over the next few days, I don't think you have any worries. The forecasted low is only 31 degrees for tonight with that happening just before sunrise. It takes several hours of below freezing temps to start water lines to freeze and bust. You can make yourself feel safe by turning the heat on to around 50 and opening the cabinet doors.

It's been in the low 20's here overnight and mid 20's daytime since late last week. The bottle of water on my dinette is still barely slushy.
You're good. - JAXFLExplorerThe year before we got here the snow came. Water pipes broke, bridges closed a mess they tell me.
- Jim_ShoeExplorerSeveral years ago, I drove down to Mims, FL. across from Cape Canaveral at Christmas to visit my parents. While watching local TV news, they showed pictures of SNOW in Jacksonville. They were spreading sand on what few hills were on I-95. Never had a need for road salt before. Traffic, as you can imagine, was an absolute mess.
- bobsinnExplorerWe are going down to 62F tonight so I winterized both the boat and the RV (Threw a windbreaker on board)
- midnightsadieExplorer III think this is great florida the WARM STATE.
- cmoecmoeExplorerIf you have problems, come on up and I will help you repair them (offer good on in Jan, Feb & March). ;-)
Craig - JAXFLExplorerOK Guys but I have all your names........;)
- fla-gypsyExplorerI'm in Jax and I do not believe it will be cold long enough to impact us tonight. There will be enough residual heat in the ground and inside the RV to prevent damage.
