Roaster Ovens

We have one too. No, it doesn't brown, but it does a great job with ham. Cook the turkey in it then put it in the oven to brown.

We also use ours to make homemade tomato sauce before canning. Just prepare your tomatoes in the food mill and then cook the pulp down to desired consistency. It's much quicker. To make it easier clean up, use a liner.

When we camp for Thanksgiving, I make the turkey in a roaster oven. The turkey browns.

We have 2 of these. One large one and then a small one. The small one is used when just me and DW. Makes a great gumbo, you can also bake potatoes in them, make biscuits, cornbread, whatever. Just like the oven in the brick and mortar house.

Double ditto. For big family gatherings, wife has two: one for making vast quantities of stuffing and the other for casseroles. The fact they hold moisture in makes them perfect for those items. Moist stuffing and casseroles are our preferences.

And there are disposable liners available so clean up is easier !! Yes !

I've had one for many years- it's really more of a slow cooker than an oven in that it doesn't really roast so much as steams. A turkey will sort of "brown", but most of its juice will be drawn out by the tightly covered process. Good if you want lots of gravy!

We get it hot hot and put the turkey in it run it for a while then turn it down. We get browned skin and juicy turkey. If doing potatoes only dont use any extra liquid or butter and they will brown up okay.

I use one for big groups. A friend does turkeys in hers but it doesnt brown up like an oven. Juicy, tho. I slow cook pork butts, big batches of spaghetti sauce.
