- Pirate1ExplorerSure am missing the dashboards that I have on my 2595 though. With a 7" screen, they should have doubled the amount of dashboards available.
- mike54ExplorerI got mine today and have been setting it up & learning where everything is. I like that "up ahead" & base camp seems to work ok. Can't wait until next week to use it on a trip.
- John_WayneExplorer IIGPS store says they have them for shipping and the shipping is free as of 7-26-13

Had a chance to try mine out yesterday evening on a short road trip. At first, I was concerned about the size (7inch) and whether it would take up too much real estate on my dash, but the additional content and detail that the size allows turned out to be well worth the additional size. Installed the linking app on my iPhone (easy to do and no charge for the app). Really liked the ability to get the weather display, and using it as a speakerphone worked really well, especially since it displayed/used the contacts I have stored on the phone. The 'look ahead' feature worked really well, and it was easy to select an item and add it to the route. No more "Recalculating" when you divert from the route. The unit just goes ahead and establishes a new route automatically. Especially nice when I get off the highway for gas. A different twist on verbal instructions on routing. The 'voice' speaks in a more natural language, saying things like, "in one-half mile, turn left on Peterson Street". I understand that it will also incorporate landmarks in the verbal routing instructions, a' la' "In one-half mile, turn left on Peterson Street past the Old Town Cinema", but I haven't run into that yet. Lots of features yet to be used, but I'm liking what I see so far.
Yeah, I was really shocked when it told me to "turn left at the end of the road" Never heard that before - Itching2goExplorer IIHad a chance to try mine out yesterday evening on a short road trip. - restlesswindExplorerI called Garmin yesterday I was told that the RV 760s are now on backorder.
I guess that you guys bought all they had. - Bucky_BadgerExplorerLarry I an using this cable from an old IPOD....Maybe you can get audio to work..on another note, there is a jack for external speaker on the other side of the unit.
I have been using this connector since I had my street pilot - LarryJMExplorer II

Here's the video cable that is linked to on the RV760 site, appears to be the same one a lot of folks sell as Garmin video cables. A mini plug on one end (which goes into the GPS) and a female composite connection on the other.

Thanks didn't see or think to look for that, but boy they sure are proud of that adapter. I might have to just bite the bullet and get the Garmin adapter since that plug has way more contacts than just the two needed for the single video plug and I don't know how Garmin has wired up that 3.5mm plug. I don't want to blow something up by making my own and miswiring the 3.5mm plug.

I'm considering getting one of these to upgrade the current 1490 and the current document downloads on the Garmin site don't show what I'm looking for so I have for anyone that has gotten one a couple of questions if you could answer. Specifically:
1. Does it accept an micro SD card like previous units and is there a size limit on the card.
2. How large is the internal memory in the unit itself
3. I assume it takes a simple RCA plug type input for an aux backup camera and can you take a picture of where and what the various inputs look like and where they are located on the unit.
Thanks
Larry
3.5mm
THANK YOU just the type of info I was looking for and good to have a pic so I know whether to get a straight or right angle adapter for the actual connection to the GPS. For some reason I didn't see or missed your post so I apologize for the extra unneeded post.
Now I wonder if the video input also will take sound from the video camera?
I'm actually in the process of setting up a multi purpose video camera system based on the Summer Infant Baby Monitor system model that has the aux battery pack for the camera. This system will serve as a hitch hookup system, a way to check the gutters on my home for debris, a front door monitor at our home, and a backup camera when towing. It has a lot of advantages over a lot of the existing camera systems, but that is a discussion for a different thread.

Garmin Dezi Truck GPS (gets good reviews from truckers and RV owners)- which has the propane setting for truck mode (but not RV mode) so just set a truck profile with the specs for your RV including propane, and you get proper routing. This is what is baffling about the Garmin RV GPS - they already have a firmware capable of having a propane setting and they leave it out of the RV GPS.
Are the propane rules for trucks and RVs the same?
There is a huge difference between a truck transporting propane and an RV with a few gallons of propane.
When you get to the road or entrance to the bridge or tunnel, the sign says NO PROPANE PERMITTED. I have yet to see one that says Trucks Only.
