This is the one I got used on craigslist.I drove out to flat farmland, 15 minutes from town. Two bars, no/intermittent data, and 103db without the sleek. Plugged in the sleek and put the antenna on my van roof. Sleek got warm, but still the same 103 db. In town now, I have 4 bars, full data, and 102db. I am thinking this db business is not the whole story. Or my phone's db meter is broken.Help? Advice?(I did not test data while in the sleek; this model sleek is not supposed to work on data. Can't go back, anyway, as first the van needs to go back to the shop. I WAS leaving for a 3 day camping trip, but the steering is still messed u. I decided unsafe and gave up on the trip. Poo.)

specs call for 6ft of distance between the cradle and the antennabecause both are transmitting a signal, low power at cradle for the phone, full power at the antenna for the tower, to close together and you have interference issues, the high power boosters have even more critical requirements, like 25ft seperationif the phone is in front you want the antenna on the roof at the end of the cableif the antenna is in the front you want the sleek cradle in the back of the Van

make sure the WILSON SLEEK you have is for 3G or 4G service that your cell phone needs. The WILSON SLEEK CRADLE comes in both models...The WILSON SLEEK cradle is a passive connection to your cell phone when it is placed into the cradle. There is no physical wired connection to the cell phone. I use one here for my VERIZON MIFI WIFI HOT SPOT unit. Definitely works good for me...The WILSON SLEEK will give interference if your outside antenna is too close to the cradle. If your vehicle roof is metal that should not be a problem for you.I can only get a foot or so away from the WILSON cradle with my cellphone and start losing the relayed amplified signal. Using my VERIZON MIFI WIFI HOT SPOT in my vehicle WILSON CRADLE allows us to connect up to five of our WIFI enabled devices while we are moving down the highway.When we setup our WILSON SLEEK CRADLE using our VERIZON MIFI unit in our trailer at the campgrounds we get a good 80-100 feet WIFI Signal around the camp site. Thanks, folks!I didn't know about the distance thing. I had my phone in the cradle. and the antenna on the roof. Maybe 3" away, but the roof IS metal. No poptop or even sunroof.Would that cause the db rating to be unchanged in/out of cradle?I also had the phone plugged in, it and the sleek in the same double usb jack, cables roughly parallel. Is that bad?

No db gain, not compatible with the primary band of your phone. If the phone has any signal on its primary band it will ignore other bands despite those being stronger.

Sorry to hear that it didnt work for you. Have you tried contacting the company to see what they have to say about it? I am in the group where it did work for me and rather well but now I need to upgrade to the latest model for 4g

I've tried all manner of antennas with it, and it just doesn't increase my signal at all. I'm not expecting it to manufacture one from nothing, but I do expect a little better performance. Not so.

Others on this board claim it does work, but not for me.

Have we determined that the antenna position is not the problem, or is that still a possibility?

And is there anything else i could have been doing wrong? I hate to think I just wasted my money :(.

Tmobile voice is usually on 1900 mhz. Very rare they use 850mhz. Tmobile data is on 1700/2100 mhz if in a home area if roaming on AT&T network it is on 1900mhz.

Should be. If you go to wirelessadvisor.com . Type in your zip code you can see what frequencies each carrier owns in a specific area
