I have it mounted on the dash and I have only tryed it 2 times and it worked good , just though that a exturnal antenna might be better ? Im not going to buy anything until I use it for a while. Thanks Jay

Your GPS works now on your tablet. Don't spend any money on anything else. Nothing that plugs in will improve what you already have working. You could get a dashboard mount for your tablet and this will put the tablet's GPS antenna up where GPS units usually are placed under the windshield glass with a clear view of the sky. Your nav app will work just fine with this or without it.

You can use an external Bluetooth GPS receiver with your tablet but you will probably need to install an app called "Bluetooth GPS" from the Google Play store in order to use it. The reason being is that virtually all of the navigation apps available expect to use the internal GPS receiver so there isn't a way to tell them to use an external receiver. This app allows navigation apps to use the satellite data from the external receiver instead of only looking for the data from the internal GPS.

I have one of those, never had a problem. We have two iPads and one iPod, WiFi only so we saved a bit of money. We took it with us to Europe, downloaded local maps all for free. iPad in the car iPod in my shirt pocket, never got lost.

A better choice is a WI-Fi range extender.. I suggest you "mount"such a device on your roof,,, If the unit has seperate antenna for the Park side and the Client (Tablet) side you can even make a directional adapter for it to give it better range.. (And that might even work if it has only one antenna)

My tablet came with a mirco to a male end for the charger that I can get a adapter to change it to female. Samsung has a cable that you can put a thumb drive to it for saving things.

Thank you for this info, Im going to check on it but so far the cost is $80 to over $100 for a Bluetooth GPS receivers, I have only used the tablet 2 times and it worked good but tough that antenna would improve it. I have a friend who has a I pad with WiFi and I will tell him about this.Am going to save this info.

Your unit should have come with a short dogbone adapter that has a micro USB plug on one end and a standard type A USb socket on the other (like a laptop) if not you can buy one from Samsung.

That said, i do not know if there is an adapter that will work with the operating system on the tablet.

Doesn't your Samsung tablet support Bluetooth? Get a separate Bluetooth enabled GPS receiver, and select it for use with your GPS software. That way you can position the GPS puck to better pickup satellites.

Yes it does have Bluetooth so I will look into your suggestion, I haven't ever used anything with Bluetooth but I can learn it.
