- mlts22ExplorerIt does throw people for a loop. I wish MS didn't use outlook.com for an E-mail service, as it is confusing with Outlook, the E-mail client.
At least Thunderbird the E-mail client is hard to confuse with Thunderbird, the booze of champions. - boston_blackyExplorerThanks to all. I took MS Outlook a full month but I know can log into my hotmail account. Tkx. again. bb
- garry1pExplorerI had a problem after changing my hotmail password my new password would not work and I could not sign back in.
Following the Outlook site instructions to obtain a temporary password worked just fine only the password's would never work!
I finally contacted MS through chat from my Yahoo account and they e-mailed me a temporary password via my Yahoo account. - boston_blackyExplorerTo answer your question - it is outlook e-mail; i.e. hotmail . . . BB
- 1492ModeratorYou are referring to Outlook email client, and not Outlook.com?
- shakyjayExplorer IIAs the previous posts have indicated Outlook is simply a client program in other words a program used to access your actual email account. Outlook itself does not require a password to run. Since your post is a little unclear what you need to provide is exactly how and where you changed your password. For instance did you actually change your password on the email server or did you just go into outlook under Tools as RoyB has outlined. If you have simply changed it under Outlook Tools go back and change it back. If you want to change your actual email password then you first need to do so by logging into your email provider's web page. For instance if Roadrunner is your email provider then you would go to the roadrunner home page and click on mail. From there you would log into your email account. You will then find a settings link where you will be able change the password. After doing that you then need to go back into Outlook and make the change there as has already been outlined by RoyB.
- RoyBExplorer IIYou will have to go to MS OUTLOOK under TOOLS and ACCOUNT SETTING and change the old account settings to the new account settings with the current PASSWORD etc...
Everything will be the same except under the LOG ON blocks. Your new user name and password will have to match what changes you made to your email account.
I think this is what you are asking about - like said above MS OUTLOK program itself doesn't have a login or password required. Just has to have the correct ACCOUNT SETTING for the email account you are using. That is how my MS OUTLOOK version 2007 works at any rate...
Roy Ken - HappyKayakersExplorer IIIMS Outlook is just an email client. It's used to connect to your actual email account (Hotmail, gmail, yahoo, etc). Did you change your password at the source?
