Bad 50 amp power pedestal plug blew my tv. Who is at fault??

- The question you ask requires that someone with a law degree (Lawyer/attorney) who is familure and licensed in the state where said outlet (not plug) exists answer your question.
This, however, as an electronics techinican I can tell you.
if it is a BAD PLUG that is responsible then it is your plug, so it is your responsibility.. If it is a bad OUTLET on the other hand (What you plug into) see above.
I would also need to know why/how it was Bad
The talk about surge protectors... HAD you had one it might have protected you, but you are not required to have one by law any place I know of.. however I'm not a lawyer so it goes back to the first answer. - Are you sure you want an Energy Management System or a better surge guard.
You may want to look at one of these.

Just a surge guard won't do the trick. Be glad all you lost was the TV and get an EMS. - According to another thread, one hot leg was open which would not damage the television.

Might just have been time for the cheap Chinese made TV to die.- Just go by a new tv at best buy, you are going to spend more time and money going after the liability issue, next time check the pedestal voltage before you plug in to it, go to Home Despot and get a pug in monitor and a plug in voltage meter to check the pedestals, I have found a couple that were bad, informed the park management and they corrected it immediately.
navegator - Check with your surge protector manufacturer. Some will cover damage that "gets past" their device. I run 2 for the electronics. The HW50 from PI for the whole coach and a MonsterCable surge protector/outlet strip for the TV, satellite, and computers. MonsterCable will replace anything that gets fried while plugged into their strip.
- Television or tow vehicle? Even fancy 4k televisions are dirt cheap. You could probably claim it under your homeowners policy, but at what deductible?
Don't sweat a cheap television, consider it a good excuse for an upgrade. - Maybe your insurance company will make it right for you - can't hurt to ask.
