I love to order stuff online, and before that from catalogs. Gives you something to look forward to. Today the package from Camping World arrived. Not bad timing. Regular shipping, and ordered Sunday night. 3 days ain't bad.Got a water heater anode, a little organizer for the sink Sweet Wife liked. A few other things. But the reason for the order was new step covers, the kind with the springs that wrap around the steps and you wipe your feet on the way into the trailer.You see the deer that frequent (frequent indeed, they LIVE here) our yard, and garden, had chewed the old ones right off the steps. Ever had that happen to you? Others have rats chewing their trailers. Not me. I got deer.

At least the deer can't get inside your camper.

Red pepper sauce will keep Bambi away from anything...after the first lick.

They're after the salt most likely. They eat the gravel in my driveway where I p**. Quick and simple to remove when they're not needed. Put 'em back on when you use the RV

I found non-slip stick on step guards at Home Depot paint dept-cover almost all of the step.Be hard to eat those!

You must have had some sweet smelling step covers. :)
Up north, wife's Relatives around the lakes can't keep shrubbery or flowers. Winters are hard and they come from way across the lakes to get what there is.
At Military Burial ground, in Michigan, the deer and other critters wait in the tee line for everyone to leave. They come out and eat the flowers, all, of them. When they hear the rifle salute, they know dinner is not far off. Usually tw or more funerals a day.
They use to post on the board about it and what not to leave.
I put out forty pounds or so of corn for the turkeys and it is all gone by the next morning usually.

If you feed them, they will come. The hot sauce or cayane pepper is a good idea.

If you have a friend or neighbor who is a deer hunter, they could remedy that situation for you.;)

Try spraying it with deer repellent, you can find it on Amazon. Not sure what they make with, maybe a synthetic coyote pee.

Most of the repellants are egg whites and red pepper. Coyote urine will do it too but is more expensive. The commercial fungicide Daconil used to be listed as a repellant and works real good. It is not listed for that use anymore.

My wife, the Polish Princess, has an aversion to anything that walks or crawls that isn't human. If she sees a deer in the yard it's "GET THE GUN!". I asked her Majesty, once, why we located her castle in Exurbia, where all the critters are free to roam and seem to be an enjoyable experience for most. I got the Royal Look. :R
