- RJsfishinExplorerHave you ever had this happen ? I have never even heard of such a thing. I know the turntable dollys can have fender contact if turning too short, or car is too wide. But I still would not lock the steering, unless what you stated below proved to be true.

On our Sorento I used the seat belt threaded through the spokes and extended all the way. May switch to a ratchet strap but what ever you use be careful not to make too tight and damage wheel.
Have also thought about drilling a
the pivoting deck and put 2 bolts in to hold it steady and let the wheel turn. - RJsfishinExplorerI don't know why you would want the steering locked when on a dolly,....I sure wouldn't.
And some stationary dollys require that the steering remain free to turn while towing - BarneySExplorer IIIMoved to Dinghy Towing forum from Towing.
- rcmiller32ExplorerI have used two ratchet straps, from the wheel spokes to the front seat base.
