Gas Stop Between Phoenix & Page, AZ

I don't recall much except jackrabbits between Page and Kanab, but it's less than 90 miles.

I run a lot between Mesa and Salt Lake, so my gas check spots are Page, Kanab, Panguitch, Beaver, and Nephi.

as it turned out we topped off in Cottonwood. by the time we got there I was pinging just about 1/2. didn't want to get caught short by the pulls north of Cottonwood. we aimed for the Shell in Cottonwood as next exit claimed it was RV friendly. it is...if you need diesel. the gas pumps would likely have worked but the turn out of the station was pretty sharp and I didn't want to try and fail. so back over the interstate we went and topped off at the Chevron. plenty of room there and yet it wasn't shown as RV Friendly in the 2017 Next Exit. whoever makes those decisions needs refresher training.

as we exited onto 89 and headed north we passed a number of stations with pumps parallel to the street and a few with perpendicular pumps...all of which would've worked out.

btw...anyone heading this way 89 is a mostly good road but there are a couple of stretches that are washboard and other stretches that will cause you to porpoise. liked all of the truck lanes for passing but we caught up to the parade about 30-miles outside of Page. finally worked up to the head of the line to find a pair of U-Haul trucks running 40-45 in a 65.

We were just through Flagstaff about three weeks ago, we took the same route you're talking about out of Phoenix. We stopped at the Conoco on the north side of flagstaff on 89 (right side of the street as you're going north). VERY reasonably priced diesel there and extremely easy to get into and out of! They have truck lanes if you need them but we actually used the auto lane, we cleared the canopy with our 39' fifth wheel no problem.

I thought it was a very nice travel store as well with hot food, we didn't get any but plenty of locals were. :B

Top off in Flagstaff if you think it might be an issue?

I usually use the Maverick station, lots of room there.

we're actually in mesa and will be usung 202/101/i-17 north. thanks for the heads up.

there is also a large station with parallel pumps across from the Honda dealer just past the corner of Haul rd. and Coppermine Rd. I have stopped there a couple of times when we had to use hwy 98 to get to Page.

It's a Shell across from Wally. The pumps behind the building (east of it) are parallel to the building. When I was there a year ago the bigger problem was pavement dips and temporary barriers around construction in that area of the car wash.

There is also a new Maverik, just north of the Shell and WalMart, on the west side of 89. Its main pumps are perpendicular, but the outer ones are okay, and they also have a truck/RV pump area in back with straight in approach.

Finally, there is also fuel south of Cameron at a Conoco, but again last year it was very crowded with traffic and tight quarters there.
