- BarneySExplorer IIIMy son had one of those on his trailer and it was very nice. A bit brighter than the one I had but otherwise almost the same.
I preferred mine just for the fact that the battery door was a bit more protected. They are both rubber O ring sealed however.

The back plate on that light is screwed on to the wall. The light then simply slides down and locks on to the small protruding bracket. To remove it you just slide it up about an inch and remove. I would not leave it attached while travelling although it would probably still be there when you arrived at your destination.

Thanks BarneyS! I just purchased 2 of the one's below that are 12 light, but the same brand and method of installing. Free shipping from Home Depot also. :-) 12 LED adjustable motion sensor light with mounting plate - BarneySExplorer IIIThe back plate on that light is screwed on to the wall. We have one of these Motion Sensor lights from Home Depot. It uses 4 "C" cells and is easily removed for travel. It puts out a lot of light, is adjustable in all directions, and the batteries last a very long time. We use it above our entrance door but it could be used anywhere on the trailer if wanted.

I had also looked at using something like this on our RV, hadn't looked at the ones the OP mentioned but the one pictured here looks like a great choice. Just wish it was stick on instead of screw on...may look into it. So with that being said, all you haters shouldn't camp next to me because I like a little light at my door when I step outside also.
I have used that also... the stick on version though from Lowes, if I recall. It lasted a couple years but then unfortunately, the sticky let loose and it disappeared during a trip.. I pray it didn't hit anyone when it fell off!

I have one starlight 1000 at my DP entrance. But it has adjustments for sensitivity and you can set it how you want. We just use it at campgrounds that have no lighting and are pitch black. We don't want to step out onto a snake or critter by the door.
That right there is one major reason I have one.. I have used battery sensor lights over the door of my camper for years. It is adjusted down to light the area right outside my door. Plus, at the very least, if someone IS at your door, they are less likely to attempt something when bathed in light than in the darkness of night. In fact, I've seen WAY more awning lights, neon palm trees, etc. in campgrounds that bug me than sensor lights glaring onto other rigs. I believe hey are a good idea.
I will try the Starlight 1000, or one like it that is direction adjustable,
soon also.
Cheers!

Exactly!
I read some reviews on the SL off youtube they dont handle the sun well, I read MG1000 is newer and better made. Still trying to figure it out. - dakonthemountaiExplorer
