Need brake controller reccomendation
I am almost ready to take out my new to me 2001 Aerolite Cub F19 Hybrid. The primary TV will be a 2014 Acadia that I am installing the factory tow package on. On occasion I will also be towing it with an 04 Sierra that has factory tow package.
The camper came with a massive hitch adapter and sway bars that link to brackets on the trailer frame.
I need to get a brake controller to work the electric brakes on the trailer. From my brief reading I'm thinking a proportional controller is safer than a time delay type. Being in Jersey we're often in stop-n-go traffic and my understanding is the time delay type will gradually increase trailer braking the longer the TV pedal is depressed. They also wouldn't react quick enough in a hard stop allowing the extra weight to overpower the TV's brakes.
Ideal would be one that can be easily swapped from one vehicle to another. In SWMBO's Acadia I need mount it in an unobtrusive way. I'd like one small enough to fit in the little cubby just in front of the shifter.

On the Sierra mounting isn't an issue. I've had a homemade MDF center console buckled into the center seat for over 10 years. I'd just screw the controller bracket to the dash.
A quick check on Amazon indicates that I would need a different harness adapter for the two vehicles but that is not a big deal.
So which brake controller is small, reliable and easy to swap between two vehicles?
