Back in the Rv world, last fall acquired 2001 Terry 31 EX and a 2008 Yukon Xl 2500 w/ 43,000 miles. Had Reese dual cam HP WDH installed by CW this spring.

Gone out 2 times so far, with another 8 days scheduled before August, with a 3 month trip to the west coast in September in the planning phase.

TV & TT fully loaded and I believe balanced for travel, the following was the cat scale readings last weekend, but I need some advice if I have it set up correctly.

Steer Axle. Drive Axle. Trailer Axle. Gross
w/ WD on 5th chain link. 3320. 4860. 7740. 15920

w/o WD 2980. 5340. 7600. 15920

I don't have the actual hitch weight,

All tires are E rated, and inflated to max lbs (80 lbs) Other than the steer tires @ 65 lbs

Yukon XL 2500 has GCWR of 16,000, max trailer weight rating 9,700
Terry Trailer has a GVWR of 9,100, and published hitch dry weight of 830

Unit rides well, slight porposing on the 5th chain, same as weighed, porposing goes away when on the 4th chain, but not weighed (yet)

What more can I do or need to do?
2008 Yukon XL 2500, 6.0/General LT 245/75R14/E4 (new to us 2012)
2001 Terry EX31G, Carlisle ST 225/75R15/E (new to us 2012)
Reese Dual Cam HP/12,000 (New in 2013)

Camped 15 nights YTD - 2013

You should get one more weight, just the TV no trailer. The three passes can verify tongue weight, and how well the WDH is adjusted.

This thread has some weights for another 3/4 ton Burb with different family. They were right at 3600 pounds on each axle no trailer. It appears you should use a little more WD tension to transfer more weight back to the front axle.

If yours weighs about the same about 3600 pounds per axle, you would have a little over 1100 pounds of tongue weight. GCWR is 16k, so you are just under that. I think the 2008+ 3/4 ton Burb is underrated (except that receiver). IK am very pleased with towing performance. Use Tow/Haul mode and I like M5 for keep it out of 6th gear.

I would get a little more WD to front axle, shift a little weight inside the TT to the rear if possible. Otherwise, you may want to replace the OEM shocks if you have not done do already. They are very underdamped IMHO.

The Reese dual cam is a bit picky about being adjusted correctly, with the detent in the WD bars centered over the cam lobes.
