I buy homemade soap at farmer's markets and grate a bit of that into spray bottle, add water and let it sit and dissolve. OR you can use
castile liquid soap/dr. bronners available many place. Test on a plant first.

I am an avid gardener and for years we have been going to Florida for the winter. I kept thinking that there has to be some use for me getting earlier veggies in NY with my going to florida.

So far only aphids on peppers which I used diy insecticidal soap to get rid of. Plants are on table. When we move, I wack the planter on the table a few times to see if there is bug activity. If no we are good to go,
if yes, then I wack some more, until it stops. I would spray the container (not the plants) if I need to.

I am growing: onion plants, basil, lettuce, chives, peppers, tomatoes
all from seed. So far so good; we go home early april. If I see a bug, I had pick it off. I think I am having issues with fungal disease on tomatoes but that is wait and see and spray with baking soda for now....will get liquid copper if I should need it.

I don't mind moving the pots around and this time they will go in the travel trailer so I hope to keep them bug free so I don't have to chuck a plant. I also have a BIG plastic bin that some of the bigger plants will be put in.

If you do it keep them on the picnic table and inspect often...enjoy!
Get a container type tomato plant/determinates only grow to a certain size but sometimes they are still big...one of mine may grow to four
feet but we will be home by then.

Now here's a person that likes to garden.

But, it's almost just as much of lugging the plants into and out of the shower stall for travel (up/down 2 sets of steps).

That will be the biggest problem. I have started plants now in the basement, and when it comes time to plant, it will be a PITA to bring them up just the one time. I can't imagine doing that every few days. Let her try flowers instead.

Ahh, the wind - I was thinking of growing them in totes and be able to put lids on them when we travel.

Though, the cool weather crop makes that a challenge.
