- DE88ROXExplorerThat's one of those things that looks good on paper, but in reality, it pointless. IMO.
No room to roll the logs or re-position them to keep the fire going. I use a set of scissor type fire place tongs ( have 2, 1 for trailer and one for home fire pit) to grab the logs and place them however, and wherever I want. Plus what others have said. The logs waiting in the queue will eventually ignite before they drop. - rhagfoExplorer IIII would think it would be great for those who don't have an RV. Nice way to keep warmth all night.
Watched the video, needs to be constructed correctly, and if done correctly fire stays at the bottom two logs. - CavemanCharlieExplorer IIII like feeding the fire. It gives me a reason to get up and move.
- lakeside013104ExplorerNot for me.
Part of the fun of having a camp fire is "feeding" it from time to time. Gets one out of the easy chair, keeps the muscles working, and allows time to fix another cup of coffee.

After watching the video linked in that thread, I was surprised that the fire did not just end up going up the sides and burning all the logs in a big bonfire.
Using logs, though... we usually only want a campfire for a couple hours. Logs can burn for a long time, we always use split firewoood. - austinjennaExplorerIf I used that I am sure in a matter of minutes I would have a great V shaped fire from all the logs burning.
- buckyExplorer IILooks like a good way to start a much bigger unintended fire, any wind at all and the whole place is on fire.
- gboppExplorerTo me, it's just a novelty that would get used once or twice and then be given/thrown away..
- TerryallanExplorer III have doubts it would really work. the logs are so tight together. seems that would smother the fire. No air, no fire
- donn0128Explorer IIDont tey using it at an Oregon State park. How in heck would you carry something like that????
