Hey thanks for the tip! I did a search for "dino board" and came up with Dinosaur Electronics website. They show a Thermister Adjuster that obviously works much better than the funky one in my fridge now. I may invest in one of these.....

That is like the Norcold's we had in our previous RV's. A lot less confusing for sure. But this Dometic seems to work well even though we never messed with the "thermister" until now. I may look into a fan for it from what folks on here are saying.

Thermister is the temp sensor for the thermostat which controls the fridge cooling cycle.

On Dometic fridge that does not have an adjustable thermostat control moving thermister will affect fridge temp (4*f to 6*F overall).

With an adjustable thermostat control...moving it will not have the same affect.

Tip of thermister should just protrude from top of clip.
Normal position of clip is middle of far right fin.
Moving it UP......cooler temp
Moving it DOWN....less cooler temp

When measuring food section temp......check temp of fin.
Fin temp should be 25*F-30*F (food section runs roughly 10*F higher than fin)

Hi,

The fan also allows the fridge to cool off faster, and I can use a 3 or a 4 instead of 5 on the control panel.

I did not notice the wire was missing. You should have a white wire with a 1" or so bulb on the end. This goes into the white clip on the fins.

What type of fan did you install?

I purchased it off of eBay. Type in Domestic fridge fan and it is the one for $17.50. Works good. I did play with its location on my last trip and found that it actually works better if I lay it flat on the top shelf facing down. Works much better than the little blue cube one. I was turned onto this fan on this forum, type in fridge fan in search box and you'll get lots of good info on it. Happy camping.

I have a small fan that takes two D batteries. Sounds like your type will function much better.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is the purpose of the fan?

It moves air around inside the frig. Helps to cool more evenly.

With my temp gun and the thermister sitting where it is in the pic I posted, the temps were 36-38 on the walls of the fridge. I thought that was ok, but we will see if mounting it back in the plastic slide changes it any.
