Why assume I like your music

I think this is our last camping on Easter wknd or most any holiday. I'm sure this has been discussed often but I will never understand why ppl think everyone else likes their music. And please tell me why we have to open the car doors & turn it up full blast. Geez, never heard of a portable radio?

Well, it's been a good run and the thread ran about 12 pages longer than I expected it would given the topic. Lively discussion and lots of deleted posts, but I can see we've taken the exit for Uglyville and it's time to call Uncle.

Isn't that how real life conversations goes? Does on my end.
Still "hear" you are:)

Now if someone comes in and says something like..."didn't he write that song about making fun of short people?!" I'll merely laugh since the artist is "height challenged";).

By creating a whole lot of "protected classes" and "safe spaces" and "political correctness" and "zero tolerance", we force people into segregated groups defined by clear legal boundaries, and separation inevitably breeds conflict, distrust and animosity. There's my position, like it or not.

On a general basis, I agree with this. But what is good for the goose is good for the gander. As it stands today, these are the rule of engagement.

Just wait and watch for the thread to be selectively edited to slant against one side. Already I've seen several threads where the offense is allowed to remain, yet all the rebuttals were removed by mods.

Ordinary posters cannot do anything about it, all moderation is subjective. So the next logical step is to nip it in the bud early and prevent it from taking root.

I don't expect much of a result, as some only take it as an opportunity to dogpile- also an unfortunate sport of opportunity.

Not much to do now but wait for it to play out and see whose character is revealed along the way

Best one we had was in a NC NP CG. One site was playing & singing, which brought somebody else who had a guitar over. Before you knew it almost everyone from the loop was over enjoying the music.

There always has to be a party pooper & precisely at quiet hour the ranger showed up & shut it down.

A few weeks ago I let my girlfriend (47 years old) drive me and my pickup on a 70 mile interstate highway trip.

On the way out she took a very long time to pass a car. As she was doing it she said "Boy this guy behind us must be in a hurry he is riding our bumper". I said, why don't you speed up pass the car and let him go by". She said, "The heck with that I'm in front he can just stay back there".

On the return trip we got stuck behind 2 semi trucks traveling the same slow speed up a hill. She was cussing them and out and complain that she could not pass them. I pointed out that she had done the same thing to a car on the trip out. She said, "But, that's different" !!

I just laughed. Some people just can't get it.

Do onto others as you would have them do onto you.

I haven't been to Knoebel's with my "new" rig, but I have to say my one and only trip there got me hooked on the whole RV thing. I rented a Class C from RV America about 5 years ago and brought the family there. Not too long after I stumbled upon the RV I ultimately bought and restored. Knoebel's is also on the to-do list...

We just came back from a lovely weekend at Ringing Rocks Family Campground. We went up with a group occupying 10 campsites in total (14 adults, 9 kids). The children were loud (mostly at the playground) all day. The adults were loud (mostly due to beer) at night until quiet hours started. Then the adults were a hushed sort of loud until everyone petered out and toddled to bed.

It was very nice, but DW and I stayed one extra day after everyone else left. The silence of that last night and the next morning was an absolute blessing to my ears.
Wow. Ringing Rock! I haven't been there since I was a kid. Definitely have to add that to the trip list this season!

I have a feeling, even with all this discussion and airing of thoughts from everyone, not a single thing will change.

Probably right you are!

I expect that the adult spoiled brat mind is pretty much closed off to change - barring some strong occurrence that often never comes.

That's why it's better to worry about your own. You CAN change yourself for the better, you can rarely change someone else.
