SuperBowl Ad w/Dog a REAL loser

I saw it Monday on the Today Show (my recollection is the puppy falls out of the back of the truck at the beginning as opposed to being thrown out.)

I laughed at the end when the woman throws the adorable pup into the truck because it was so obviously an over-the-top outrageous spin on last year's feel-good beer commercial with puppy and horse. I'm a dog lover and service dog partner but it didn't upset me at all. It was completely tongue-in-cheek and I was amazed anybody took it seriously as promoting puppy mills or abuse.

Internet-related businesses love being edgy and outrageous - hard to break out of the pack, especially with Super Bowl high stakes. Seems clear to me that Go-Daddy did the whole campaign on purpose to get the #1 media and buzz online this year. Have you seen any other ads discussed yet?

I wouldn't be surprised if their own staff started the Twitter campaign bashing them to get the ball rolling. They apparently have another ad already in place ...so they'll be primed to get even more coverage about the replacement.

In fact, I'm just cynical enough to believe they paid big bucks to get the first ad placed out there on the morning news shows at the beginning of the week.

I watched the AD, not exactly as represented by all the alarmists. The dog was not thrown out of the window, he bounced out of the back of the truck. Stupid maybe, but really, it is just an AD that was intended to make fun of puppy mills and trying to assign more to it is a symptom of our society that has decided to be offended by anything and everything. It was making fun of puppy mills and how easy it is to set one up, nothing more, nothing less. I'm certain no animals were hurt in the production of the AD.

Not much on TV is real any more. I bet the dog was an actor and he used a stunt double.

I didn't care for it. But then most of those Go Daddy ads are offensive to good sense. I do like a lot of humorous ads but have never found the Go Daddy ads appealing and even offensive.

Actually the humane animal and alarmists are promoting on line puppy mills. I went down to local pound to get a dog. 4 page form to fill out. Inspection of my home. I wouldn't qualify because my entire ranch isn't fence with dog fencing. I have barbed wire for cows. I bought a dog on line. Jake is a great cow dog. BTW they don't ship them UPS or FEDX. They get an airplane ride for approximately $500- $1000 depending on distance. The SPCA and humane society are over zealous and alarmists.

Before you know it. They will have frogs drinking Budweiser, that should get Peta going !!!!

Go Daddy pulled the ad this morning.

Compared to the realities of animal abuse in this county this ad is nothing.

True, the dog was shown falling out of the back of the truck. Also, the dog walked home to a ranch or farm, not a commercial puppy mill. I didn't think it was offensive or promoted puppy mills. It was hilariously over-the-top absurdity.

Funny, but not offensive. I am not a fan of phony outrage.

The ad was meant to be a parody of Budweiser's ads. If you put two and two together as the ad intended, it's actually comical. It has NOTHING to do with selling animals online and EVERYTHING to do with what GoDaddy is as a business. I do find most of GoDaddy's ads offensive, but this one isn't. PETA and it's zealots go out of their way to make trouble by purposeful misinterpretation of advertising and information. Guess what? Had they not made a fuss I wouldn't have even seen the ad because I won't be watching the superbowl. It was a clever poke at Budweiser tugging on people's heartstrings.
