110 Volt Electrical Doesn't Work

Nothing like that was in the loop, unfortunately. My razor, the laptops, cell phones, and tablet. Oh, and the UPS that beeps incessantly when the power is off.

Good deal. The most likely suspect of the bad device culprits will be one that is thermostatically controlled or has a selection switch for levels of heat. Highest suspects will be the wifes hair appliances--dryers and curling irons.

Follow Up
WE took the suggestion that seemed the best solution, and replaced the GFI. The old GFI would not reset (click). The new one would reset (click) but still not start the 110 volt system. It was suggested to us by a very knowledgeable and helpful RV repairman over the phone suggested to disconnect everything on the GFI circuit (there is only one GFI) and then reset it. This worked. Our thanks to Ken Cameron (520.490.7632) of Tucson. He answered our call on a Sunday, gave practical, functional suggestions/solutions and did not charge us even though we offered. We still have something that is knocking the GFI off circuit. We added things back on one at a time but the GFI didn't pop. The offender is still a mystery.

Shut breaker off, install new part that you purchased at a Wal-Mart alongside the freeway, turn breaker on and keep going. Happy trails.

Suspect list:
Tripped circuit breaker main panel
Tripped circuit breaker sub-panel or on an INVERTER
Gripped GFCI

NOTE: The above are all #1.. IF GFCI tripped and will not reset then breakers are #1

And the last two:
Bad connection or
Broken wire (or bad) wire.

I have had all of these happen at one time or another here. The bad connection took a bit of tracking but anywhere flexible wire is wire-nutted to ROMEX (Solid wire) is a good suspect point. I have had two of those fail on me, When I fix 'em they do not fail again. One was the inverter output lead.

The bad wire was a 12 volt lead.

Your lights are 12V, nothing to do with lack of power at the receptacles unless your converter has died or blown a fuse and is on the same circuit as the GFCI receptacles (highly unlikely).

If you have power to the GFCI device and it will not reset, the device is faulty or the ground fault still exists. Check outside receptacles and inside, anywhere water could cause a problem.

IF the faulty GFCI passes power to other protected receptacles, all of those receptacles will not have power. In an emergency due to a faulty GFCI, the wires that enter and exit the GFCI receptacle can be connected and power will then be present at any downstream, receptacles. PLease, shut off power before doing this emergency procedure and disconnect any devices that are plugged in to receptacles before restoring power to the circuit.

Does your inverter have one or more circuit breakers following it on a subpanel or built into the inverter itself? Our Xantrex had two little breakers on the front panel which often tripped and caused a situation like you describe. I know you said that power is going to the GFI, but you might want to double check. Is there only one GFI feeding your entire RV? That's a little hard to believe; I have at least four that I can think of.

you say your running off the inverter
built in inverter, powering the SAME outlets ? and the work from inverter ?

could be the transfer switch inside the inverter..
you didn't happen to plug an electric heater into one of those outlets did you ?

what is charging the batteries ? power from inverter won't last long if your dragging down the batteries

If the GFCI won't test, it sounds like it has died. I would change it. If you do I think that your problem will be solved. JMO
