- BFL13Explorer IIThe 7-pin positive wire must be spliced into the landing gear positive before the 30a fuse for the landing gear. (ie on the landing gear end of that fuse, not the battery end) That would let the 7-pin power the landing gear (from truck battery) even when that 30a fuse is blown.
But now if the fuse is blown the 7-pin positive can't reach the trailer's battery, and the trailer's battery and converter can't reach the landing gear. - denverhankExplorerIf your Jayco is like mine you have a separate 12v wire and fuse that feeds the landing gear from the battery. I had blown that fuse and experienced the same symptoms. That's the first place I'd check. Use a meter, don't trust looking at a fuse. Or replace it with a known good one and see if that solves the problem.
- campinrooterExplorerWill look at it tomorrow thanks for the info very very helpful
- You have an open circuit between the battery and the landing gear circuit.
Apparently the tow vehicle shares that wire... and is probably not charging the battery in transit.
We cannot see or test the connections. Good chance it is a circuit breaker that needs reset or replaced or a loose or dirty connection. This is all going to be close to the positive battery terminal. Although it could be a couple feet away or under the trailer.
You need to tell us what you see or better yet post a pic.
Do you have a volt meter or test light? - BFL13Explorer IIIt depends on the way they connected the jack's positive to the battery (should have a 30a fuse in that line--ours has a twist -in glass fuse in line) with the controller to battery positive path (should have maybe a 40a or so fuse or Dc circuit breaker on that) and the 7-pin to battery positive. (might have its own fuse too up by the kingpin.)
You know the 7-pin pos works and the ground. Those go to the battery posts. You know it does not work from battery or from shore power.
Somehow the paths from battery and converter are broken open but not the path from 7-pin to battery. How can the jacks work from 7-pin but not from battery when the 7-pin is on the battery? Seems impossible, but there must be a path from 7-pin to jacks that by-passes the battery even while going to the battery to charge it (or does the 7-pin do that now like it is supposed to?)
Only you and Jayco can find out what is really going on there! My Komfort diagram won't help you! :( - jmtandemExplorer II
Landing gear motor will only work while hooked up to tow vehicle when I unplug will not work fuses look good anyone have an idea whats going on its a 2010 jayco eagle rlsa Thanks
It does not appear that you have a problem with the landing gear motor. It appears that both battery and shore power are not powering the motor. I would check fuses first and if you have an inexpensive volt meter you can begin tracking down where the electrical issues are located. On shore power make sure you are getting power to the converter. Then from the converter to the landing gear motor. Also, see if there are other systems that should be powered by shore power or the battery that also are not working. - garysolExplorerI wonder if it is a ground issue and it is using your truck ground when your plugged in or when your hooked up.....hmmmmm
- donn0128Explorer IICircuit breaker tripped
- campinrooterExplorerMight be time to call the man !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks
- rarobertsExplorerIt should work with your onboard batteries too.
