I admit it's not the right way to do things, but really you could use four separate wires as long as they all had proper insulation sheathing and were terminated properly with strain relief. do I like it, not really, as it would be a pain to deal with unless they taped them together and then it would be stiff, and besides it just looks wrong haha

This dogbone adapter, is this duplex male at house with Gerry rigged 50 amp cord. From there too 5th wheel ?
If So with the loads you mentioned it is likely an open neutral, burned inside one of the connections 50 amp service cord is required to be 6ga wire, from your description those cords are 10ga or less, I don't know what if anything is damage inside the TT, but your friend needs to replace the cord situation and reduce loads to 20 amps or less because a 15 amp duplex outlet is not going to safely handle that much load, it's possible the neutral is burned off at the duplex at the house ,
If the doggone is 50amp at the house and 15amp going to the trailer, again the load is too much for the cords and the 15 amp female on the dogbone adapter

I agree. But it might be the chinese telegraph effect. At least I'm hoping so.

Still no trips and it has been over 24 hours.

Yeah, I don't understand that either. Why would an overload on one circuit cause all breakers to trip? Something very wrong with that.

The end result is that cleaning the air conditioner (fins?) has worked.

The breaker has been replaced, and there have been no trips for several hours.

The folks I'm trying to help don't listen too well. So what the mobile repair person really said is unknown.

I did ask for some voltage readings--but they ignored my request.

You can't adjust the freon in a roof top unit. It's sealed from the factory. A 5, 10 or 15? A 5, 10 or 15 what?
If the roof A/C is not functional, replace the roof A/C. This 5,10,15 thing leaves me questioning the competency of the service person.

I recommend a new upper unit for the air conditioning. Most are too old to fix.
