Can I bypass the aux disconnect solenoid to see if it is faulty? If I can do I bolt the battery cables together and tape them?

Got a meter or a test light? Disconnect the load side, connect your meter or test lamp from the load terminal to ground, push the AUX switch, there should be a click as the solenoid pulls in and the meter should show battery voltage or the light will come on.

That does not tell you if the contacts are capable of conducting full amperage but it will show if the solenoid is working or not.

Easier than that. Remove both nuts, Remove one cable (the non-battery one) and replace that nut and snug it down so it does not get lost.

Put that cable on the other stud (With the battery cable) and apply nut and snug it down. Use the solenoid as a terminal block to moin both wires

If the studs are long enough you can use method two

Remove one wire, transfer to other stud and add the nut you removed

Finally.. If you have an INtelletec Battery Control System

Jumper using heavy ga wire (liek 4ga) Generator to AUX.

Yes, tying them together will by pass it.
You could move one of the large terminal cables to the other side.
You could use a jumper wire for testing. Use something like a #10 wire.

I'm wanting to see if the solenoid is working. When I try to start the gen. there is no power and I don't have any interior lights.

Disconnecting the solenoid or bypassing the solenoid has zero influence on battery charging. The solenoid is an on/off switch.
