Brake Pedal Not Returning - UPDATE

One RVer at the hotel was stunned to learn new rotors for his class A cost $45 ,ea.

New every conceivable everything front and rear cost than 650 dollars. He was ecstatic and by borrowing my tools managed to save an immense amount of money

UPDATE....just returned from the repair shop. The MH did not need new rotors on the rear brakes. I was anticipating a $1500 bill. Instead replaced the rear calipers and pads. Total cost with parts, labor and tax was $415.

Well the story continues. The brake pedal is now working just fine, but while performing state inspection it was discovered the rear brake pads have worn badly and the rotors will need replaced. Sound like the sticking braking pedal was dragging on the brakes more than I realized. Coach is still in the shop and will probably be completed on Monday. I'm expecting this to be a $1400 bill for rear pads and rotors. The shop did not give me an estimate yet. Does my guess sound to be in the ball park?

Dang! A classic symptom of a bad vacuum booster. :(

The repair shop still has the motorhome. They called to let me know they found the problem to be a stiff linkage rod near the firewall. They have it working but wanted to keep the coach over night to double check tomorrow. I did not ask the cost but does not sound to be a serious repair.

Time to examine the power brake booster.

Push hard on the brake pedal while starting the engine. It will sink a little when the vacuum is developed. There is a non return valve inline. Check the bottom of the full dual master cylinder with your finger. If it scrapes up black goo that was your internal seals. The master cylinder must be bone dry between the booster and master cylinder
