- Edd505ExplorerWalmart does it free
- LwiddisExplorer III don’t want to take my TT to Walmart.
- wopachopExplorerHey thats cool!! I wanted to do a load test on my GC2 batteries when brand new and then throughout their life. Plan was to do something like a 20a load and monitor voltage drop on a fully charged battery. That works well (not at fully charged) for lithium batteries found in RC toys. Not sure if its a good test for a flooded lead battery though.
- BobboExplorer III bought one of those at least 5 years ago, maybe longer.
- MEXICOWANDERERExplorerThe cheese grater size tester is like stress testing while you're sitting in a recliner chair. WORSE THAN USELESS
The load amperage needs to be ADJUSTED to ½ CCA amperage then held for 15 seconds.
I would laugh at the handheld cheesegrater 100 amp fixed load. But error by 350 amps too few for a group 65 makes me wince instead of chuckle. Parts store testing is a farce. - MrWizardModeratorI have one, gets used every time I purchase batteries and several times a year, testing my batteries or someone else's battery
- MEXICOWANDERERExplorerBest 55 diagnostic bucks a person will ever spend. Will NEVER pass a battery with problems and will find batteries with beautiful specific gravity yet bad. I Jjust load tested my 9 year old AGM by loading it to 500 amps @ 9.9 volts. That's 1000 CCA
