Dometic ac and Onan generator

I would start by checking all the connections. Inspect, disconnect and re-terminate all the wiring in 120 volt distribution panel and transfer switch. Pay special attention to the neutrals in the back portion of the distribution center. Get some electrical de-oxidation grease. Coat the bare conductors prior to terminating. Look for melted insulation and burnt conductors
Genset is running a little too fast which is causing the higher then normal frequency.

Thanks that’s where we usually set the no load hz but I know what you mean. I’ll start with the connections. Thanks it’s kind of a weird one.

If the hertz does not drop to right at 60, then it is set too high or the regulator is failing.
Start with cheap items first! I had to replace my regulator. Got an after market one. Flight systems

I know what you mean. If I have to I’ll wire the gen straight to the ac and bypass everything to check it . Somethings going on screwy but when l get it tracked down I’ll post what the problem is.

One thing which is your friend is the Kill-a-watt meter. I measures many things. in this case we are just going to plug it into an outlet not plug anything into it

HZ and Volts are what we need to monitor as teh A/C tries to start.

Some multi-meters can do that as well but the Kill-a-Watt is so easy. and 20 bucks.

Be sure to turn off the A/C for at least 3 minutes when switching from Shore to Generator or the other way around.. I like to just shut down the motor home for 3 minutes electrically when "Transferring".
