Garmin RV 760LMT & Ram Mounts cradle don't work together

Just bought a Ram Mounts RAM-HOL-GA54U cradle (in photo below) and also the Garmin GPS that included a BC-20 backup camera.

The dock will not fit into the cradle and cannot be screwed in place. I phoned Ram Mounts and apparently the dock will not fit due to the backup camera which makes the dock slightly larger. I'm wondering if the ball on the back of the cradle can be cut off to make it fit or if I can trim away a little plastic.

Has anyone else run into this and if so, what did you do? The other option is to keep the dock mounted on the back of the GPS and remove and reinsert the plug on the dock any time we take the GPS out of the cradle. Not a big deal, just not as convenient. Might have been nice to have know this in advance, but probably wouldn't have changed anything except for the wasted hour or more on a picnic bench in a CG trying to figure it out.

It appears it takes Ram a few years sometimes to come out with products that are designed for a new model. I'm guessing not only do they have to design and build a cradle but that they may wait to see if enough of a particular model are sold to make it worth their while.

That's basically what I was wondering. I don't know how long the backup camera option has been around. Not sure if I'm that impressed with the camera and the wiring so far. Maybe others have read reviews and decided not to get it. Haven't started to install it but it's not going to be a quick Sunday afternoon job that's for sure.
The Ram components are very nice though and they have a large range of parts and pieces to choose from.

I figured out what it is. If you get the Garmin GPS unit with a backup camera, the dock is a bit thicker and there's no way it can be mounted into the cradle with the screws supplied by Ram. There must be a lots of folks with the backup camera and not sure why Ram hasn't addressed this.

*The RAM-HOL-GA54U was designed prior to the BC20 wireless backup dock was released. The current design will not allow for that dock module to be integrated into the cradle.
