97 Winnebago Vectra workhorse chasiss, gasOk...the reservoir which holds the hydraulic fluid for jack's and slide one of the welds has broken. I have temporarily strapped it up to get home. Not sure I'll find someone willing to weld with a gas tank on the left of the reservoir and a propane tank just forward...any ideas. It's my year for RV repair!Thanks in advance

a good weld shop will know how to tackle this its not a hard job.I,ve had things welded close to the fuel tank before.

Sounds like a TIG job for sure! Drain the reservoir, clean it out, purge it with some N2, and you should be GTG for welding!

Any welder that knows his stuff can weld it for you.
FYI, Your chassis is not a Workhorse, it is Chevrolet. Workhorse bought the chassis in 1999.

A full gas tank is no more a hazard than a full water tank. It's the fumes that ignite, not the liquid.

Tom...it appears the reservoir tank was welded to the frame..at the factory.

just a thought

its gong to have to be emptied, cleaned, and lines plugged, before it can be welded

hyd fluid does burn

That's what I'd do.
Then with some band it clamps I'd be on my way home.

Ok....so I looked closer this morning at the reservoir...it's the bracket which has broken a weld . The resivor is not welded to the frame. Soooooo...I suppose someone will have to remove the reservoir and all the valves from the bracket ...then have someone weld the bracket back
