I have an Samsung S3 and when the battery is 100% and I unplug it within 10 min it will drop to 45%. Can I get a new battery or do I need to replace the phone?

Searched Amazon for samsung s3 battery and found a bunch between $5 and $10 some w/free shipping.

$20 is too much, they should be $5 to $10, before shipping.

I've put what I call a FATback on every single Samsung I've ever owned. S2, S3, S4. I get 4 DAYS now between recharges, easily. Well worth it, in my eyes.

If you are going to buy a battery from a phone store, be prepared to pay a LOT more than the online price of $20 you mentioned. Its 15 seconds work to change the battery yourself.

I have a S3 Mini and the battery was done after 7 hours. Turns out the Facebook App. was killing it. Removed the app and everything was fine.

I have a S3 that I got when they first came out and I can go all day + with the original battery.

If you are using an app to kill unwanted apps, get rid of it as it will cause extra battery drain big time. I had the killer app and it would kill my battery before lunch.

Get an ebay battery and sell the phone if you're out of contract. I just sold my S3 on ebay after getting a new S5, love it. You're paying for it regardless, might as well get a new one if you qualify.

S3's have been out since May 2012. Since most people run them out of juice daily, they get charged daily. 500 cycles out of a LI ion battery is the norm... about a year and a half worth of usage, not quite, for the average user.

Non warranty issue. It's a normal consumable item.

eBay batteries are risky at best. I've gotten some good ones, and I've also gotten plenty of clunkers.

If I'm going to buy off eBay, I get the 5 battery deals for like $30. Even if they are clunkers, I still have 5 batteries. Add in the plugin battery charger, and you should never have any low battery issues.
