- MegaCab_PLExplorerMaybe it is easy to impress me but I was doing an oil change with my wife's Murano at a Nissan dealership and stopped by the showroom to look at the Titan XD. They had one inside in some top trim; black and brown with cummins. The sticker was 61k. But the interior was just plain gorgeous and very comfortable. I was really nicely surprised. I still do not like the front end look. Nice big to mirrors, seats and the rest. Forgot to check the payload.... Nice truck overall.
- DonnohExplorerIf I'm not mistaken the lie-o-meter on the diesel version they tested got about 2 less mpg's than what they reported on this impromptu test. I know they were different routes, but that doesn't speak well for the baby Cummins.
- MegaCab_PLExplorerWow, really good payload, and mileage.
Very capable truck.
They may sell more gas than diesel units. - AlmostAnOldGuyExplorer

the comment on the drive ability of the gas vs the diesel was one short comment that caught my attention...would be interested to see how they actually are behind the wheel.
Thanks!

Yes, I noticed that too - sounds like this drives much better than the diesel version. Seems to me this truck hits the target of the 'heavy half ton' pretty well. The diesel with the heavy engine and transmission did not leave enough payload to make the strong engine relevant. But this version with 2,500+ payload provides a good balance in engine and payload. Not too excited about the 26 gallon tank.
Jerimiah, I am looking forward to hearing from you after you take one of these for a test drive. Curious what you think about this compared to competitors offerings, particularly what you think of the ride and handling. I guess I would be curious how this compares to the Big 3 3/4 tons.
Keep us posted.
Good luck,
Stu - goducks10ExplorerWe I had my 08 F150 it had a 26(?) gal tank. Bought a 2010 F150 that came with a 36 gal tank. Big difference in traveling. We have a nice CG we go to several times a year. It's around 228 miles RT. @ 10 mpg that's 260 miles till empty. That only leaves 32 miles to maybe drive somewhere else. I always needed to take an extra gas can to be able to make it home and do some driving around the area where we camped.
With the 36 gal tank I was good to go for whatever was needed.
I'll never own another truck without a 36 gal tank again.
Many times out on the hwy with the 08 we needed to look for gas at inopportune times.
The gas Titan XD looks like a capable truck besides the tank. - Grit_dogNavigator

I believe so...
That's really okay with me...I need to stop every couple hours for Medical issues anyway.
Thanks!

But in the grand scheme of pickup trucks, it's absolutely absurd to have a fuel tank that is on empty every 200mi or less when the truck is operating at its limits.
Of all the kick@ss advancements in truck tech, the mfgs continue to offer tea spoon sized fuel tanks! - jerem0621Explorer II

- Taurus18ExplorerDid you catch the payload rating? That brings this into the mix for my next TV!
