I had to go back and look at that. What is that hitch? I don't think I have ever seen that. I assume maybe an over engineered way to adjust tilt?
It works on the same concept as a rubber torsion trailer axle to dampen up and down movement of the tongue. As smooth as our TT tows, I see no need for any such thing. A properly loaded trailer may porpoise a little, but other than an empty U-Haul trailer on a rough road, I've never experienced any up and down jarring motion. A slimmer wallet is probably easier on the back though.
And you probably need to keep your back in good shape to be able to pick up that hitch and put it on your truck.
Interesting! I had to go back and look - I missed that first time skimming through the video. Did he say something like "torsion hitch"? - GrooverExplorer II

I looked at a new Raptor, sticker was $65K. Dealer wants $80K because they are rare........Neat truck but I won't be paying a premium for one.
Just be patient. I have not seen anything on how many Raptors Ford is producing now but I get the impression that they are not nearly as limited as they used to be and should come down soon. Meanwhile, in case you can't wait Sharp Motor Company in Pulaski TN has never marked one up to my knowledge.
I remember when the PT Cruiser first came out and people were paying $4k over list for those things. Some people just have money to throw away. - GrooverExplorer II

My Yukon XL, pulling my 7000 pound boat got between 9.29 - 10.89 over my last 4 tanks, covering about 1000 miles. That was cruise set at 75 on the highway, 70 on 2 lanes, and 65 through the mountains of I70.
8.4 leave a lot to be desired. - HannibalExplorer

Couldn't tell for sure but it may be an air safe hitch. It has an air bag and a shock in it and soaks up the harshness associated with shock loads. There is another out there that has rubber dampers in it, which may be what that one was. They are stout and I've never heard of anyone complaining of failures!
That didn't look like any "soft ride" type hitch that I have seen. It looks like those side tabs are for tilt only. It looks solid but different than anything I have personally seen. - dodge_guyExplorer IICouldn't tell for sure but it may be an air safe hitch.
