Atwood Water Heater Wont Light

Good news. Was able to get the air out of the system and get it started. Thanks guys

Drain plug is in

Pressure relief valve is closed

I opened up the back panel to the heater and took it out of bypass mode (at this point I started I to hear water flow into The tank)

I have not opened the tap and let it run for an extended period of time. Will try that now and write back ASAP

Oh I forget- mines a manual light.

Allen wrench? Not having a remote start but I would think its just a matter of repeating lighting procedure from inside to purge the pilot tube.

You need to run the stove burners and the furnace to clear air out of the propane lines. Even then its going to take a bunch of tries to light the water heater as that line still needs to be purged of air.

i posted a photo of the unit i have here, i got it from youtube but mine looks the same, if i remember correctly , the troubleshoot instructions say to open the valve first , i was trying to work on this from below as the camper was 10 feet in the air, ill have time to remove it from the truck and lower it to whhere i can actually see whats going on and ill report back. to open the valve , i need to use an allen key yes?

Ya, I can stand there for 5 minuets sometimes before the pilot will light on the WH if it hasn't been used in a while. Though mostly because my thumb gets tired from holding the knob in :) and have to stop and take a break. Lighting stove, due to more flow, helps purge the lines (only run burner for half a minuet or so) but the wh still takes a bit.
