I missed your question... :B

On the engine side we replaced the exhaust manifold do to a crack up around one of the flanges and replaced 3 injectors due to 1 being bad and the other 2 were still original so they were replaced as well. This engine no longer has the original injectors now.

On the truck side the 4x4 won't engage and hasn't for some time, but will need to be fixed soon, and the driver seat has been replaced due to the reclining mechanism broke and back rest part on the seat just flopped back on the rear seat. You can imagine that challenge shifting gears and pressing on the brake pedal without the back rest! :E

All in all the truck gets the job done, but the PITA part is I'm the one that recommended we purchase this truck for our work hand, so when something goes wrong with it I get the phone call from my BIL. The question always is do we take it to Eugene's shop or the Chrysler dealer.

That's actually quite a story. Iv never heard of a 6 liter being more reliable than a 7.3.

But at the same time, I will stand by my thoughts of a 6 liter being nothing but trouble. If its doing good now, just give it time. My uncle and dad both had 6 liters and meticulously cared for them. Both had problems. My dad is stupid enough to keep his

Im NOT saying if you have a 6.0, go trade it off RIGHT NOW, because I have heard some stories of them lasting forever in stock form (although rare), but I am a bit of a Ford diesel guy, so Im just giving fair warning to all

Glad you got her fixed...and with 170K on it I don't blame you...still a lot cheaper to repair than a new truck. I have a coworker with the "dreaded 6.0" in a 2004 F250 with 220K who pulls round bails all the time on GN trailer...still all stock and well maintained. I think the key is maintenance and not trying to push the limits w/ chips!

It was probably just an overboost condition. Easy fix and drive on. Glad you got it fixed.

Most likely low PSI in RF tire causing Turbo failure :W

Okay I'm personally sick of the 05 Ram bashing, man up and post something, anything as to this PITA truck. A photo would be nice unless your puter skills won't allow it :B I understand it from the older group but gezzzzz a guy your age should be able to post a photo with the cab off a 05 Ram due to repairs :H
Guess I'll start making up my own PSD TV's I have also, but wait that would make me sound a bit dumb. Oh wait, I did do that in 2003. One didn't make it from the dealership to the warehouse to put the flat bed cage on :R The other two weren't to far behind.
I will say this, back then Ford covered warranty repairs which didn't cover down time for rental trucks to keep the business going.

Loved this one! you are sick of him talking about his ram problems. He is no where near as bad as you are about 6.0 Fords. just saying.

Does removing a fender on the new '13 RAM with ~5k miles to replace a turbo count? :h Errrrr... Wrong year! :W
