Just Confirming I winterized correctly.

If u have aplumping to a washing machine (even if u don't have the washer installed, you'll need to get antifreeze in that line and drain.

Don't forget the city water inlet. I do this one by first relieving the pressure from the water line, and then reversing the inlet screen temporarily so that it keeps the inlet check valve pushed in, then flip the pump back on for a couple of seconds. you'll get a geyser out the city inlet, but its then good to go, and just reverse the inlet screen, and you are ready for next season.

I pry the screen out and insert a small wire tie into the valve to hold it open, then run the pump a second and pull the wire tie out. Presto! You have now purged all air and water from the city water inlet. I do it last after every other line under pressure is full. I also collect all my antifreeze in a bucket at the farthest point (outside shower) and use all that's left over to pour down the black and gray tanks to make sure the outside portion of the drain piping is filled with antifreeze.

My city inlet has a screen on it, I am not sure how I would push in its check valve, I am going to have to figure this one out, I might just make or order an air hose fitting for it so I can just blow it out with my compressor.

The screen should pull out easily.

Did not think of the city inlet, I will try to get some in that, or blow it out. No tank flush system on our small rig. I think I got enough in all the traps, but I may go dump some more just to be extra sure.

We crack the fridge/freezer open after every trip. I am naughty, there was no battery in smoke detector, it trips EVERY time we use the furnace or stove, I really should install a better detector that doesn't nuisance trip all the time.

I used about a gallon, but I do have a pretty small RV, not a lot of pipe, only the shower, toilet, and kitchen sink.

A very good tip, I am pretty good about checking my roof, I was just on it recently resealing the front and back seams with eternabond tape as an extra layer of protection, so I should be good for now, had I not just been up there this would have been a good time to do it though.

I am going to be dumping some more in the tanks after all the suggestions here.
Good video, I hadn't seen that one, but I did watch a few others before hand, so I had a pretty good idea what I was supposed to be doing. I just started this thread to double check my work :)


Thanks to everyone who replied, I really appreciate all the feedback and suggestions.

I usually take an extra gallon or two and pour some in each sink, shower and then the toilet. This will ensure that your grey and black tanks have some antifreeze along with all the P traps.

pour some antifreeze into each sink drain & shower drain so it fills the P traps. Dont forget outside shower if u have one, often missed.

Run some antifreeze thru any sink sprayers you might have. A lot of newer TTs have those push button pull out sprayers and you need antifreeze in both the spray and stream sections.
