Marathons, what to replace with

My trailer tires are st175/80r/13 , load rated C, made by Goodyear/marathons. They appear to be in fine shape but they are old enough that I want to replace them with new tires. It appears Goodyear doesn’t make these and the new endurance are not made in this size.

Any suggestions on another brand? I would like to use my existing rims instead of buying new tires and rims. Also, I don’t have any spare room for a larger tire.

I know Tire topics get old, I’ve dont some searches but my size is less popular so less info on the forums.

My cousin runs bias ply tires on his 24' travel trailer. Following him up I-75 last week, I got a good example why. His left rear tire disintegrated while running 65mph. No damage done to the trailer. Chunks started flying and the tread rolled off into the median. One a previous trip a few years ago, he lost a radial and it even tore out the shelves under the sink with the steel belts slapping. I've noticed U-Haul has gone back to bias ply trailer tires as well.

Haven't heard anyone complaining about them and a co-worker has had good luck with them so far on his Avion TT.

My 2012 came with Provider tires when I purchased it new. Yup, I'm still running them, and they have been a great tire!

I've been happy with the Carlisle HDs mentioned above. If I had to replace them I would consider the new Goodyears because they are MUSA, though I understand that isn't an option for OP. As it is, I'll likely be too old to pull a trailer when these age out....

I had the same size on our first Jayco. Went to a Maxxis 185 tire and they worked great. I have Maxxis on my Columbus fiver now. They are a proven trailer tire and have been around for some time.

. X2 have this brand on my trailer and love them! Probably 10000 miles on them and they still look like new. I would buy them again in a heartbeat! Got a great deal on Amazon on them. Good luck,Bill

But doesn't the GVWR include the tongue weight? The tire (X2) rating needs to equal or exceed the axle rating.

I switched (after a couple flats ) to Maxxis 8008. I went to the next size up, I think it was 185/13 and it increased my safety margin by about 600 lbs. They only offer 2 sizes in 13". Have about 5000 miles on them and so far so good.
