Newbie ~ electrical problem
Hello ~ We brought home a 2008 R-vision Trailcruiser from the dealer (everything was working when we left the dealer lot). About 10 days went by, I checked the charge panel on the range hood and it indicated the battery power was going low. Called Dealer who said I should plug it in to charge. I moved the trailer to our concrete parking pad, leveled it, and using the 30 to 20 adapter charger cable that came with the trailer, plugged it into my garage 120 outlet. Noted no lights. Dealer had me check fuse panel and I found one blown 30 amp fuse. I replaced it and the lights came on.
A couple hours later while I was cleaning the unit, I lifted the dinette seat (where the converter and electrical are located). A very distinct smell of melting glue was present (I have a craft glue gun so I know that smell). I probably very unwisely thought maybe that was normal. Trailer charged overnight and the next morning there was no power. Lifted dinette seat and the glue smell was completely gone. 30 amp fuses not blown. Unit unplugged.
We are reading the manual and have read many things online about batteries, electrical, converter. Lots of things to learn before we think about traveling.
Seeking your basic read on the situation before we call an RV service person or take unit to the Dealer to repair.
Thank you advance for pointing us in the right direction...
