Question glue for glove box to front pannel? update 12 -7

On the 06 F-250 the latch broke on the glove box. I found info that it was glued together from Diesel forum. I pried it apart and put a new latch in. Now I need to know what kind of glue to use to glue the box to the front pannel? Or what does Ford use?

Called the ask Ford phone line. They told me it was proprietary information. Don't want the competition to find out about that secret glue.

I bought JB weld for plastic and well see if that works.
  • A pic would be nice. But if I had to guess I would say any epoxy glue or Gorilla glue would work.

  • I'm a Ford tech, looked over the workshop manual and can't find anything about the glove box latch. Couldn't find any service messages either. Best bet would be anything by 3M. Just make sure it's ok for plastic.

Thanks, I think Ford wants you to buy a whole glove box assembly for $140. Instead of a $15 dollar latch. The glove box is glued to the face pannel and in order to get to the latch you have to pry the box from the pannel then you can change it out.
