Taking camper off in RV parks issue?

Point is if your in a remote area and following those rules I dont think you will have a problem off loading your camper

Ive only twice ever been told I cant off load once at Clear lake state park and once at a private park in Half Moon Bay

Clear Lake State Park has a stick up their donkey. Probably from dealing with Lake County regulars...

The abandoned tc we had to deal with was older than god and who knows if the vehicle id was any good? Until you have spent time along the beach cities in CA you have no idea of the huge number of decrepit rvs are around......they are like fleas on a rabbit. The main reason rvs are not allowed to overnight on the streets, and rightfully so.....

You think some of these no off truck rules started back when campers had old tripod type removable systems . Those were a litte scary.
Rules havent caught up with 4 corner push button jacks?

Since one of the places I planned to use the the TC was, in fact, CA, this is kind of a bummer for me. It probably won't cause me to change my mind, but it does give me pause. I want to be able to go exploring off road in the truck without having to deal with the camper.

Any 7' wide flat bed trailer can deal with a TC as long as the jacks work. If they don't, farm jacks on the leading edge will get it on trailer although with some damage. People really dump TC's at a campground and leave? Don't you have their vehicle information and ID when they checked in or they coming in and off loading without check-in?

One campground owner told me he was concerned someone would off load their TC, then have a wreck or breakdown away from the campground. He said if this happened to a TT or a 5th wheel, he could move them to another site, not reserved, or to his storage area with his front end loader tractor. But he had no way to move a TC. I could see his point since he allowed people to reserve specific sites in his park. He had nothing against TC rigs, that it could tell, but he didn't want someone that had that site reserved to show up and have to tell them they couldn't use it because he had no way yo move the truck camper that was still there.

He had rigged his bucket on his front end loader with removable hitches that would work with the trailers.

You bring up some great points. I had to dispose of an abandoned camper once. After making sure there was no propane tanks, batteries, etc it was a simple task of smashing it with my front end loader and dumping it in the trash bin. Most places wouldn't be set up for that and many states have requirements for disposing of abandoned property. It is a real pain for the company.

At McGrath, we used a local tow company with a lowboy type trailer. They jacked the TC up and somehow got it on the trailer. Not without some damage, I suspect. I was working the kiosk at the time so did not see the process, just the before and after.
