Yep the best hidden were the 56 Chevy, behind the drivers side tail light.

I had a '90 T-Bird SC, the washer was in the engine bay attached to the fender well. My '93 SC they moved it in front of the rad support! When we drove from CA to CT winter of '95 the damn thing kept freezing up when the temps dropped due to no warm air around the resivoir!
I have had my nozzles freeze up if they were mounted on the hood, wipers, cowl or even on the cowl under the rear edge of the hood, not to mention just being blocked by ice.
The only in-tank fuel pumps that I replaced were due to blocked filter screens (replaced pump and screens while I was in there).
I have seen many of the Big 3 industrial I-6's with several hundred K on them. Mostly the Ford 300 with individual rod throws. They were longer, but fairly low maint. (Except carbs)
I agree that there are too many electronic gee-gaws in the new vehicles. Not being able to install an aftermarket radio because the OEM one controls info flow to your dash, what's up with that?
Add an extra light bulb, get an alert or trouble code!
My wife's H2 doesn't have a traction control off setting! What happens when you need wheel spin to clear the treads of snow or mud? I have tripped both ABS and TC off by 2-footing gas/brake in deep snow on my steep driveway trying to generate wheel spin to dig down and keep from doing a 180 and winding up in the street (wife's done it 2x) or on the rocks! I know, it has big feet and they act like snow-shoes, but on a steep angle it won't compact >8" without it sheering .

I actually have to agree that I don't like this design. For me the problem is with the washer fluid that ends up on my hood. I spend a bunch of time washing and waxing my tide only to have blue streaks on my hood the first time I have to clear my windshield. On my pickup, they come out of the cowl which I like.

You have to remove the whole air filter assembly to access the dipstick and check the oil.

Do you know how many miles the larger 225 slant six motor was good for?

It had steel cylinders pressed into the base of the block with complete and even 360 degree cooling of the cylinder. The head held the top of the cylinder in place. They lasted hundreds of thousands of miles.

Used them in the pea viners I operated for a summer job in the NW. Very durable engine.

I have to say the puppy juice nozzles in the hood of my RAM work better by far than any other rig I have owned.

GM telling BOSCH that they are not adding a lift pump to their diesel equipped engines with the CP3-4 fuel systems, dodge added it. but the designers wanted to save money I guess

Well I think you could revamp that Lincoln. Just hook up some small flexible tubes to run from the hood spigots and hold them on the wipers with a little baling wire. It's for utility, not looks, remember.

Speaking of looks, my buddies wife said that when her dad first met her mom, they went to a dance. When they came out of the dance it was raining cats and dogs. So her dad-to-be turned his wipers on and, lo-and-behold, he had a couple of Tampexes tied on the arms. I guess it worked in more ways than one. Not at all. The Cadillac had an excellent wiper system. The nozzles were on the wiper arms and were extremely effective, spraying the fluid where the blade sweep is. It also had rain sense, which worked quite well.

I sold it because it was leaking engine oil and power steering fluid and required about $3,000 in repairs. Instead of fixing it I sold it.

The Town Car has them on the cowl, not as good as the Cadillac but it will have to do.
