WD hitch?

IF you have a WD hitch installed, should it be adjusted with the fully loaded trailer on the hitch, or does that matter.
  • Depends on the brand. With an Equal-i-zer, you set it up (adjusting for proper height and stuff) while unhooked, and if you measured correctly there is no need to adjust anything when you hook up.
  • Thanks ya'all ... we're all set now. Happy Camping, season coming up :)
  • Adjust fully loaded ready to camp...full fresh water too. Who cares about unloaded?
  • Yes,adjust it fully loaded.
I actually adjusted mine with 60 gals of fresh water, simply because that's how I leave the house.

    Safe towing.
  • If it's not adjusted with the loaded trailer hitched up then it's not adjusted.
  • Thought that, but not had one myself before. We drive a TC, only tow cargo trailer. But daughter has a heavy trailer and dips RE a lot when trailer on the ball. So, will probably do super-springs and WD hitch.

She just bought a new Ford 250 ... I just want her and hubby to be safe.
  • If you do it any other way it will not really be adjusted.
  • I've always done mine with the trailer loaded ready to camp. But, we don't pack too much stuff anyway.
