Stopped for fuel and steps extended and retracted just fine. Arrived at campground and steps will not extend. The amber light under the coach by the step lights up when the door opens so I think that tells me the door switch/wiring is ok, right? Checked the magnet on the screen door and the switch on the door jamb and they seem to be lined up. Crawled under the coach and tapped on the motor (being careful not to be near the steps) but that doesn't do anything. Unscrewed the green ground wire from the frame and cleaned it with sandpaper and reattached. Anything else that i can try to extend the steps until I can get the motorhome where it can be serviced? Thanks in advance for any advice.Cargo Door Lock Stuck (Fastec M315)When opening the baggage door on my class A, the handle on the door latch (Wesco/FIC/Fastec Model M315, Part #30207) broke such that even though the lock is unlocked, the mechanism that turns the "cam" that moves the plunger will not turn. Bottom line, my cargo door is unlocked but stuck in the closed position. I crawled under the coach but it looks like the cargo bay is sealed tight. No chance of fitting a screwdriver or something skinny between the inside of the door and the bay from underneath. From the looks of the broken handle, the handle itself turns a square looking piece of metal on each side. I tried getting pliers around the metal on the broken side but not enough room to get a good grip. I really hate braking the entire handle off to get at the guts. If I can get the door open it looks like replacing the lock is a simple matter. I am going to give the FASTEC people a call in the morning and get their input but I'm wondering if anyone has run into something similar and has any ideas. The design is such that the plunger connects with a piece of hardware on the bottom of the storage compartment to lock. It is not the design where the latches are in the sides of the doors. Thanks in advance for any help.Re: Maintaining Dinghy BatteryThanks for all of the responses. The new toad is a 2016 Jeep Cherokee. It replaces a 2003 Saturn that has finally bitten the dust after 200K miles. I am aware of the fix required for the "wobble" issue. The fix requires the electronic power steering to be available while towing and that is what puts the strain the battery. Fiat Chrysler recommends charging the toad battery while towing, which is the reason for my question. Thanks again. The amount of knowledge and people willing to share is amazing.Maintaining Dinghy BatteryI am in the process of getting a new dinghy and would like to have it wired in such a way as to maintain a charge in the starting battery when we tow. The problem is that our MH is currently wired with a 4 pin connector. Is there a way to get constant 12v power from the MH through the 4 pin? (perhaps by running with the headlights on at all time).... or should I just have the MH rewired with a 7 pin connector? As you can tell, I am a novice at wiring. Would tapping into the tail light wire to charge the dinghy battery even work safely? Any suggestions would be appreciated.Kwikee Step ProblemI've searched the various forums but haven't found a problem just like mine. I am currently in a campground so I am not able to obtain the Kwikee 4 wire pig tail to test my steps. Nor do I have a multimeter. The steps on my class A will not extend. They have been working fine all season and are properly lubricated. I travelled about 100 miles today when I departed everything worked but when I reached my destination the problem started. The yellow courtesy light turns on and off when I open the screen door and I hear a clicking sound but the steps will not extend. That tells me that the switch/magnet is working properly...correct? I plan to tap on the motor as suggested in some posts as well as disconnecting the motor from the connectors and wiring it directly to a battery to see if that helps. Other than those steps is there anything else that I can do in this situation? I am thinking turning the ignition on an off and seeing if that does anything. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.Re: Camco shower hoseThanks everyone. Seems as though the washers that came with the replace hose were too small (thin) for my particular application. When I used the original washers everything worked great. Really don't like to manhandle plastic plumbing so I hope you understand.Camco shower hoseCan the chrome camco replacement shower hose be used in an rv with the nylon/plastic fittings? Purchased one and can't seem to get it tight enough at the faucet. Don't want to force it and end up with a bigger job. Thanks.Re: Ford Chassis Service - Detroit AreaThanks for all of the responses. The place that I usually take my MH in for service has changed hands. My class A only has 15K miles on it and runs like a champ. While it was in for the annual PM service, they are telling me my transmission has "serious problems" and they are trying to sell a flush with "no guarantees" and then a possible "rebuild". Makes no sense to me, MH has run fine since I have had it and I have several hundred miles on it this year so far with no issues. No shifting problems, idiot lights, etc. I smell a rat so I am looking to take my business elsewhere. Thanks again.Ford Chassis Service - Detroit AreaCan anyone recommend where I can get my Ford F53 motorhome serviced in the metro Detroit area? Thanks....
