(20.5 k chassis) Looking to reduce side to side sway without stiffening the ride. Any suggestions?Re: Challenges in obtaining DirecTV receiversThank you everyone. Good advice.Challenges in obtaining DirecTV receiversWe recently acquired a used Class A. It is equipped with a Winegard High Definition SWM3 antenna. All we need are the boxes so that we can plug in and start service. We have been working with DirecTV for almost 6 weeks trying to get those boxes. And, unfortunately, each time we call, we get a different tech representative and each one gives us a different solution. We have been told that we have to have an installer come out - DirecTV schedules an installer and then for some mysterious reason, the installation order gets "cancelled" on their computer and no one shows up. This has happened 4 times. By the way, we know that we don't need an installer and this is NOT a house installation - this is an RV that we store in a separate location from our house. Then even though we specifically need 2 H25 boxes (in order to be able to fit them into the small spaces designated in the RV) - we keep getting H24 boxes without remotes which we then have to ship back. I find it incredible that it requires this much effort to get RV service. We know that much of this is poor customer service from DirecTV but is there anyone out there that has been able to accomplish what we are trying to do?!?!Brite Tek Roof - Pros and ConsWe are considering the purchase of a Newmar Bay Star 3124 which has a Brite Tek roof. Our current RV has a standard fiberglass roof with which we have had zero problems in 6 years. My understanding is that the Brite Tek roof is supposed to be a superior improvement over the traditional rubber roof. This issue is important for us as our RV would be in uncovered storage when not in use. What has been your experience with Brite Tek?Re: Installing door holders on outside storageThank you everyone. Very helpful.Installing door holders on outside storageI am adding some T-style door holders for my outside storage compartments. (These are not replacements; these are new.) I am concerned that when I pre-drill the holes, I may hit plumbing, wiring or other critical items in the walls of the RV. What would be the best way to avoid this and how to determine the right length of screws I should use? This is for a Class C 2009 Winnebago Outlook. Thank you!Re: Ford E450 305 HP power increase - Banks EngineeringThanks for all the replies. It is interesting that when we looked at the Banks website, it stated that the upgrade was not available for vehicles in California. When we asked someone at Banks about that, she stated that they would install for us but we would have to be willing to accept that we are "bending the rules." Spending $4,000 on the upgrade and then not being to pass smog inspection definitely an issue.Re: Ford E450 305 HP power increase - Banks EngineeringThank you very much for your input. Good food for thought.Ford E450 305 HP power increase - Banks EngineeringWe have a 2009 Winnebago class C Outlook 29' with a Ford E450 305 HP engine. We are considering boosting the engine power with a Banks Engineering enhancement kit installed by them. Has anyone had the Banks equipment installed and did it make an appreciable difference in power? Any downside to the Banks equipment?Re: Best route from Meeks Bay, Lake Tahoe to Mammoth LakesSorry - I meant to say it looks like Highway 50 will be the way we go. Appreciate all the feedback!
