All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsSisters to Sweet HomeHow is Hwy. 126 to Hwy 20 from Sisters, OR to Sweet Home, OR as a route for a 40' motorhome pulling a toad. If this is not a good choice, what route would you recommend? I've heard the route is not recommended for larger vehicles.Tire Pressure Monitoring SystemAny recommendations for a tire pressure monitoring system (tpms) I have the Tire-Safeguard system but it keeps giving me false readings. It rings the worming buzzer for low pressure but before I can even stop the buzzer stops and all of the pressures read just fine. I have also had times when it shows a low tire and I stop, check the tire, and find out it is fright up to specs! When I get back in the coach it now read that all is well. I am tired of all of the false alarms and I want to find a system that can be counted on. StuRe: Not Such Great service!!!Camper G your comments are right on track! The most critical part of towing a motorhome is the pickup and drop-off, The potential for damage to the motorhome sure increases the liability of the towing company. They have to safely lift the coach, secure it to the truck, and remove the drive shaft. These things have to be done regardless of the mileage they will haul the coach! The extra 35 miles shouldn't have cost very much but with my payment of $300 it seems the travel cost was about $9.70 a mile. I am not in the towing business but that sounds high to me when truck drivers are driving for less than $1.00 per mile. Anyhow all is well. We are fixed and back home. I will be using the next few months to locate a Roadside Assistance program that cares a little more about customer service. StuRe: Not Such Great service!!!To David! I am sure you are correct in what the small print says but my concern is how you treat your customers. The hookup and drop-off at the closest location, which would require me to wait 2-3 weeks for service, was the biggest part of the tow. How much more would the extra 35 miles have been? What's done is done and I now have something special to be thankful for this Thanksgiving day - last few months of being a member of GSRA! Good luck to the rest of you. StuRe: Not Such Great service!!!Well I guess the old saying "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me" applies here. I guess I didn't read the small print and that gives them the right to screw me out of $300! I had this same problem with Good Sam Extended Warranty so I guess this is a company practice and I weill be sure not to be suckered in again. Stu P.S. Mr.Lamonis I am surprised that after watching you lead a leadership seminar that you would conduct your business this way. I guess when they say that all you want is a bigger data base they are correct! Not Such Great service!!!I have had my first occasion to use my Good Sam Roadside Assistance today as I have a major coolant leak and my engine has shut down. The good folks at Good Sam want to tow my motorhome to Burnet, Texas, 25 miles away, instead of to the Freightliner service center in Temple, Texas which is 61 miles away. Now it is important to note that the repair facility in Burnet cannot work on my coach for 2-3 WEEKS while Freightliner can check it out tomorrow. I requested that the coach be taken to Freightliner and I was told that would cost me $300. So I will pay the extortion from Good Sam and, oh yes, I will let my membership in the Roadside Assistance program lapse in March when it terminates. I noticed that FMCA has a stronger program for $30 less each year so I guess that is a win. Another unhappy Roadside Assistance member. StuVoyager AOM713 ProblemThe backup camera on my Voyager AOM713 started to come on and off, then started to blink, and now it has gone off completely! I have checked the connections at the camera and at the monitor and they seem fine. The side cameras still work appropriately, it is only the backup, rear view, camera that is troubling. And ideas on where to look for the problem would be appreciated. StuHwy 97 from Biggs Jct to RedmondHow is this road for a 40' motorhome towing? I've traveled 97 south of Redmond quite a bit but never this section. StuRe: Usk, WA to Chewelah, WAThis will be part of a summer trip, mid June. We will be going from Blanchard, ID to Chewelah, WA and I was exploring alternate routes. I will explore the route some more with Google Maps and then make a decision. Thanks for all of the input.Usk, WA to Chewelah, WAHow is the road between these two cities? It is a gray road on my map and there is no highway number designated. I would be driving a 40' motorhome and towing a car.
