It is my understanding that no AWD can be towed with a dolly (leaves our my Honda CR-V!)I was wondering if 4WD drive vehicles can be towed on a dolly? Thanks very much,Car trailer versus flat towingWe own a 35 foot Allegro Open Road Class A and our toad is a Honda CR-V. We're trying to decide whether to buy a car trailer or the tow plate, braking system, etc to flat tow the toad. I would like to get some input from the forum on how difficult/expensive it would be to find a campsite long enough for the MH, the 25 foot trailer, and the car if it was unloaded from the trailer. As always, thanks so much for your input.Coachmen Mirada 35BH UVW and towing capacityWe hsve made the decision to buy a 2014 Coachmen Mirada 35BH. It is on a Ford chassis with the V10 Triton engine. The GVWR of the coach is 22,000 pounds and the GCWR is 26,000 pounds with a 5k hitch. I have two questions for the group: 1) I believe this tells me that the the total weight of the TOAD with fuel and anything inside it can only be 4,000 pounds. We wsnt to purchase a Honda CR-V that weighs 4,503 pounds. So, even though the hitch will handle 5K it seems like we might be s little over on the GCWR. The dealer has said the coach is rated to tow 5,000 pounds. Please let me know your thoughts. 2)I know Coachmen weighs each unit at the factory, but how can I find out the approximate Unloaded Vehicle Weight now so I can determine the weight allowance for fuel, csrgo, etc. Thank you in advance for your help.Warranty Support From Wholesale DealersWe are in the final stages of purchasing a new travel trailer and, in addition to local dealers, have gotten quotes from a few of the larger high volume "wholesale" dealers out of state. While I like to keep my business local, it seems like several thousand dollars can be saved from the big dealers. My sense is that when it comes to warranty support, it will be problematic to get that locally if the trailer was not purchased there. Has anyone had any experience in this regard or do you have a strong opinion one way or the other? Thanks very much.Hitch recommendationWe are ready to purchase our new travel trailer and would like input on the best load distributing, anti sway hitch. The trailer will be about 9,500 pounds loaded and about 35 feet long. We will be pulling with a 2012 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins Diesel with 6 speed transmission. I have considered the E-Z pull, Hensley, etc. Thanks very much.Primetime Lacrosse versus Rockwood Signature UltralightWe are down to decision time on our new travel trailer purchase. It will be either the Primetime (Forest River) Lacrosse 318BH or the Rockwood Signature Ultralight 8311SS. Does anyone have a recommendation on one over the other? They both seem to be high quality trailers. Your input is greatly appreciated.
