After following the troubleshooting steps and finding nothing wrong, I replaced the control unit. Works great now. DougRe: CO2 Detector - 2003 Winnebago JourneyThanks folks, and thank you RV.net. I should have figured the pin was the answer. I saw it and tried to push on it! Didn't think to pull. Also knew MON-oxide means one not 2! And yes, the sticker says to replace by 2008, Only 6 years past due. lucky I didn't have a faulty furnace. Lesson learned, I better check the date on my smoke alarm. .....DougCO2 Detector - 2003 Winnebago JourneyNeed help removing the Detector (Costar), so I can either change the battery, or replace it. I can't turn it counter-clockwise by hand, like the cover says. Can I use a strap wrench without breaking anything? It once every minute or so, and started when I pushed the test button. I became the second owner in 2010. Any help will be most welcome. Thanks in advance, Doug Welch Milton, DERe: Norcold 1200 FansThanks "deadbeat" for the idea of adding a 12 volt fan in the back. Question is" where can I buy a fan that will fit in there, and a 120/12 volt adapter. I'd like to put a fan in there before our trip in August. Easier than pulling out the fridge. Thanks everyone else for replying. DougRe: Serpentine belt for '08 Cummins ISB 6.7l 340hp engineMy serpentine belt broke, because my alternator seized, and it tore up the fan in the process of flying around and out. Cost me 1200.00 to replace the alternator, fan, and belt. A lot of that was labor because replacing the fan is very time consuming, since the shroud is in the way. Doug 2003 Winnebago Journey 330 CatRe: Norcold 1200 FansI've had the recalls done prior to May 2012. The fridge worked fine during our last 3 week outing at Myrtle Beach in May. Now it's a lot hotter and again getting ready for our annual August trip. Last summer we cancelled because I felt the fridge was not getting cold fast enough, and was failing. I may have been too quick to judge, because it seemed to work fine later during cooler weather. I'm thinking if the cooling fans had been operating we may have been OK. Can anyone here tell me how to function-test the fans now to see if they're working? My book says the thermostat switch in on the first fin, where ever that is (probably out of reach from the access opening). If I could simulate 160+ degrees there, that might do it. Thanks in advance for your help. Doug 2003 Winnbago JourneyDL 330 CatRemoving old Diamond Shield??It's 10 years old, discolored, and cracked. I'm able to remove the shield using Scraperite plastic razor blades, in sunlight. Have not tried a hair dryer yet for fear of damaging the clear coat. Bigger problem is removing the adhesive, which takes much longer. I apply 3M Adhesive Remover, and scrape the adhesive into globs (which stick to everything) with the plastic blade. I then rub off the residue with more 3M stuff. This may take weeks, maybe months! Is there an easier way without taking off clear coat? Thanks for any tips. ....Doug 2003 Journey DL, 36GD, 330 CatNorcold 1200 FansOurs is 9 years old and worked well on a 5 week trip to Fla in May. Turned it on LP yesterday to get ready for a trip. checked later and found it off, showing "nc" (somewhat cold in the freezer section). Did the reset thing last night and on it went. Had an "nc" last year, and the reset thing fixed it. Don't hear the fans running now though. Should the fans be running? It's in the 80s now but was close to 100 yesterday. Also, can anyone tell me how to reset after the second "nc" shutdown? Leaving for a trip on Monday and getting worried. Any help would be appreciated.
