Have volt meter and can test volts at switch will attempt this tomorrow. When looking at switch with cover open I don't see any contacts to stick. I am familiar with points sets as I used to put points in auto years ago. Don't see any in switch. Just many wires hooked into lugs. Are points behind this switch?Re: Power out on generatorChecked all breakers and ok. I made mistake about bumping converter, I meant transfer switch. Pulled off cover and all looks okay. When on shore power it hums and clicks when cutting on power. When cutting on genny nothing, no click or hum. How can I tell if the switch is bad or if genny not sending power to switch>Re: Power out on generatorMy bad in description. I said I bumped converter but meant transfer switch. It is mounted above the converter in power compartment. Have not pulled cover off. I can hear it click then hum when hooking to shore power but hard to tell when cutting on gen. as it is on other side of coach. I will get wife to start it up for me while I listen to it. If it is transfer switch how hard is it to replace.Power out on generator2003 Mountain Aire. Full time now and have been hooked to shore power for about a month. Cut off shore power today to run genny awhile to exercise it. Generator fired up went inside to cut on some items to work it and I had no power anywhere on 110 volts. 12 volts was working but nothing 110. Checked switches in breaker box, switches on generator and all was on. Cut it all off and put back on shore power and all was well again. I did this several times with no luck. Checked batteries. Did not see any bad or loose connections. Water levels good. Showed power at batteries was good. Thought it might be converter switch sticking but not sure. Did not see a fuse bad at converter and all looks okay. Bumped converter box couple of times hoping it was stuck switch but no luck. Surge protector on shore power was on and all lights showed power was good. New surge protector. Can you guys give me some help. I am still learning and not a electrician but can deal with some things. Thanks for help.Excited NEW Fulltimers starting nowWell I guess we have bitten the bullet. We are as of today moved out of our home. Giving away and selling most all our belongings. Moving one of our kids and children into our home and we are in the motorhome full time. EXCITED about this. Learning a lot. We have been staying in the Class A for about 2 months straight but had access to our home when needed. Now we don't. Have a place to hook up on our property when we are between trips so we can see family and such. Wife to retire in about 2 months and we are off. Nervous but ready for this new adventure in our life. So much to see and do in our beautiful country. Any suggestions are appreciated as we have much to learn.Re: Carrying Portable Waste TankWe are in SC currently and we will keep our address here for several reasons. We will keep our house and have a family member living there . We will be gone for months at a time then return for a few weeks or month then leave again. Wondered what to do about paper mail. Such as medical stuff. Hard to get Post Office to help with any of this.Mail when full timingHow is the best way to get your mail when you go full time. We are getting ready to start. I know some can be emailed which is fine but some is not. What do you guys do about this. ThanksCarrying Portable Waste TankWe are getting ready to go full time in next few months. So excited about that. We have lots to prepare for and learn and one item is to get a portable waste tank to carry with us. We will not be in full hook ups all the time. Can anyone of you tell me how you carry this large tank. We are in a Newmar 38 ft. class a. not a lot of large storage underneath. Thought about some sort of rack on the ladder on back of coach. Do any of you have ideas and photos would be helpful. Also need some help with mail delivery. What is the best way to have mail forwarded or what do you do full time. Some can be emailed but some is land delivered. Thanks and all suggestions are appreciated.Re: Help with route for 1st long tripWell all of this has been changing my mind about the extensive planning. That is sort of my OCD stuff. I love to plan trips. But I think we will set a starting point then procede as we like. That does sound great. At times we have such a hard time getting sites locally on short notice we were worried that we might need reservations at most areas ahead of times. We love the stat parks and camp in coe now. But occasionaly we do like a nice full hook up site for awhile. We don't plan on traveling more that 200 to 250 miles a day at the most and are okay pulling into a Walmart for the night if need be. All this has been so helpful and please keep it up as the reading is great. I do love studying places I plan to travel to get the lay of the land so to speak and know some places I want to visit. We are so excited to get started.Re: Help with route for 1st long tripAwesome, keep it up guys. All the help is needed
