- Thunder_MountaiExplorer IIHelp us with some more information. What is the reason for wanting to go to SE Utah that time of year?
You can catch some decent temps for a few hours a day if you hike down to the bottom of the canyons. But there is usually snow in the shady places and backcountry roads can be impassable.
Bluff, just down the road and at a lower elevation, is a bit warmer, but I wouldn't consider it for a winter vacation or snowbird. Heck, Blanding is bad enough in March and April. - 2gypsies1Explorer IIISnow is beautiful on those red rock areas. :)

How cold is it in this area in the winter months? One of my friends is going to be down there then and I thought I might go visit him in my 5ver.
Thunder,
Here's my reason for asking the question. - BusskipperExplorer

Thunder,
Here's my reason for asking the question.
It's southern Utah -- the temps are regulated by elevation and the weather. Confusing, yup. we love it, cool crisp nights and sunny warmer days - it will freeze and it will be warm all depends. Bryce is higher in elevation and can be really COLD (below freezing) but it can just as easily be warm. It does snow and as said it really sets off the Red Rocks.
Take a variety of clothes, you will likely need them all.
One year we climbed to the top of Angels landings in shorts and T shirts then the next day in Bryce had 10" of snow and a low of 10, both days were in our top ten, as they both showed off the areas the way we will never forget.
So back to the question, How Cold - Cold but it not really that Cold, warm but not really that warm. All depends an where you are.
BOL, - 4runnerguyExplorerSE Utah is a little to vague to give a good answer. Zion can be quite tolerable in shirt sleeves by mid-March, but Bryce would still be in the depths of winter.
- lfloomExplorerwouldn't Zion and Bryce be SW Utah?

Sorry, those were just better known examples to give an idea of the diversity of climate at that time of year.
OK, hopefully this works better:
Bluff can be quite tolerable in shirt sleeves by mid-March, but the Abajo's would still be in the depths of winter. - Duke-44ExplorerThanks SE Utah is not as winter camping friendly as I might have thought. But that is why I asked the question. I know that SW Utah is warm in winter as I have friends that spend winter there in RV.
