Lakeside camping in NY

Ausable Point state park on Lake Champlain is a nice spot. Lots of lakefront or riverfront sites you can even keep a boat at.

North South Lake and Mongaup Pond... both in the Hudson Valley and both highly recommended.They both have waterfront sites and great fishing. As with most state parks in New York, there are not hookups, but water was plentiful and convenient.

Keuka Lake State Park is lovely. Campground is very nice. My favorite Finger Lake!

In the Thousand Islands there are, Wellesley Island state park, Grass point state park, Cedar point state park and Kewaydin state park all on the St. Lawrence River.
Some have river side camping all are on the river and just a very short walk from campsite to water

We've been camping in Lake George for 30+ years. The only campground on Lake George that allows RVs is Hearthstone Point.

Many years ago there was a private CG just north of Lake George Village called Mohawk CG. They have since sold and it is now all private homes.

I was actually thinking about Lake George, but didn't know there were campgrounds directly on the lake. Went up years ago and rented a private cabin. Do you know of any on the shore? RV Park looks good, but away from the lake.
